Will Hopkins step up to the plate?

God damn right, and Kovalev was the one who decided to fight Cleverly instead of Hopkins. That *** should change his name to True_B*tch.

 

Kovalev fought Cleverly because Hopkins refused to fight him, so why wait years for a title fight?

Hopkins said that he will never fight Kovalev or Stevenson. Guess what? Ward has refused to fight Stevenson, Stevenson has called Ward out for a long time now, even on national TV. Ward will never fight Stevenson...........Ward is a light heavyweight, but he goes down to 168 and refuses to take a PED test...........or fight outside his home town.........

 

I agree but remember that Hopkins is a business man first and foremost. Neither guy is ranked in the top 10 by the IBF, so I seriously doubt he'll fight either of them any time soon.

 

There is more reasons for this fight not to happen.

Hopkins is fighting on show time, Ward HBO. Hopkins is a 49yr old lt heavy and Ward a super middle.

If the fight does happen it would be a stylistic nightmare, it won't gel for a second and if Ward does win which he clearly would, he isn't going to get the credit he deserves, due to Hopkins age, nobody is...

If Ward wants to carve a career at 175 then maybe it's a logical first step, but I think he would be unwise to turn his back on potential pay days with Froch, GGG, Chavez jr.

 

Hopkins has no business mixing it up with guys like Ward and Stevenson. I think Hopkins knows where he's at right now, good enough to beat world class fighters, but not good enough to beat the absolute top guys.

I havent seen Hopkins-Dawson 2 but given both Wards and Stevenson performance against the common opponent, doesnt bode well for a near 50 year old.

Kovalev was installed as his mandatory after Murat had trouble getting a visa and Hopkins said he would fulfill his mandatory obligation and fight him, but Kovalev didn't want any. Had Kovalev not elected to fight Cleverly instead, Hopkins would have been stripped of his title if he "ducked" him, so you clearly just don't know what the **** you're talking about, you gay white supremecist *****. :deal

 

Kovalez wanted to fight Hopkins, but he did not want to wait forever, so he went overseas and won the title from Cleverly..........
