Hopkins has incredible footwork for his age, lead right + textbook left hook and very strong on the inside. Bute has no inside game or very high workrate. Hopkins is old but i would give him the edge.

Respect, laffie. I saw Hopkins against Ornelas and you must check that he still is very active with his legs and that's what you need to make others fight your/his fight... Set em and draw them into your quarter and then Bute would have a nightmare sliding and slipping at that close range with a natural roughster and spoiler... But Bute is definitely on a roll and jabs away and bounces back with precise lefts... No, Bernard would not take another Calzaghe replica at 168, 170 and lose his chance on doin another number on a reckless all-attack aussie but not in Australia.

Bute's promoter said today that Hopkins wont be Bute next fight. But he might be later on in 2010.

I have a feeling that we might see Dawson vs Bute next april...

I guess my prediction would depend on the weight. As others have noted, the heavier the weight the more I would favor Hopkins-- with the inverse being true as well (the lower the weight, the more I would favor Bute).

At any rate, this would be an intriguing fight featuring two outstanding tacticians.

I have no quarrel with those who selected Hopkins, but those who suggest Hopkins would "school" Bute are seriously mistaken.

:rofl:rofl:rofl

Are you yanking my crank??

I think the fight comes down to the cards, and I can readily see either fighter winning a closely contested SD.

Bute has everything Hopkins can't deal with. Nard's huggers have his nuts so tight in their mouths, they forget that only two fights previous Hopkins was faking low blows and looking for a way out against a light puncher.:deal

Yea i've found it http://www.ringtv.com/blog/1560/hopkins_fighting_jones_to_stay_busy/
Nobody want's to fight an 44 year's old Hall of Famer . And who want's.. cant or doesn't give him the money he want's. Does Rjj provide more than Green would've? I don't think so(something's fishy). I think this words "I respect Bute’s management for saying we’re not ready for Bernard Hopkins whether the money’s OK or not" i don't think they came out of Bute's mouth or Interbox but i think it's an interpretation of 'Nard at a possible a refuse of the IBF champ to step to 175. That's my honest opinion . If it's the other way around i'm disappointed on Bute for refusing the match
