Andy Lee will be a great fighter and there is a whole gaggle of good-looking Irish fighters coming up more so than at any other time in Irish history.

So yeah it won't be too long until we get a world champ.

Duddy might win a belt at 154, Lee might get one too at middleweight if he stays clear of Pavlik and AA

I think Lee has the potential to be a great middleweight champion after Kelly is gone. I know he lost to Vera but Irish guys always get into scraps when they shouldn't, it's what makes them Irish. He got cut, he wanted to close the show, as long as he learned from it. Also he showed he has a great chin, the guy never stopped punching. I believe in Manny and Andy and still think he'll make it there.

those lads Sutherland and Egan were pretty good in the olympics, and Andy Lee has major talent.

Duddy may be steered towards an ABC strap because of his marketability.

We'll have to see if Lee was overhyped, but predicting real world honors now seems a little premature.

Highly doubtful indeed, Lee has the best chance out of the rest mentioned and he lost a fight this year by TKO. He's having a decent come-back so it's not totally out of the question.

Time will tell zipper, but the good thing is, our fighters have TV backing, and that will pump the money into the sport at a level where boxers can be brought along in Ireland and not be rushed along in Britain or America. But maybe Duddy will be our best hope at lightmiddle. Martin Lindsay fights tonight in Britain, the fight is live on Setanta, so check it out, as I believe Martin to be one of our best prospects also.

andy lee got tko'd but learnt a whole lot more than he lost in that fight, his comeback against gibbs showed what kind of talent he can bring to the world scene and him winning a major title in the next three years is not out of the question by any means,he's still very young and if he can improve his defence he certainly has all the attributes to go to the top.

duddy,i honestly don't think many people at light middle are going to be able to hang with him and ronald hearns is going to be the first to find that out, duddy's sheer tenacity, will to win and chin will take him very far in that division,he aint no spring chicken and the fights will have to come thick and fast for him to make a real impact at the weight.

mccloskey has all the talent in the world and should certainly become a european champ but his lack of power and inability to fight on the inside will take him no further than that.

dunne may have a chance at euro honours again but he isn't going no further than that,i can't see him beating any of the champs at 122.

hopes are high for the likes of james moore, martin lindsay and of course the like of sutherland and egan can make huge impacts at the pro level!
