I mean it fast track all negotiations and all boxers will be forced to fight opponents to fight with equal billing.

In this way, we can easily determine who is being ducked and who is doing the ducking.

If you have cleaned-up the division, then move-up for a newer challenge and a larger payday.

Ofcourse, consideration should be made for HW undisputed champion since they have no other means for a larger payday.

Why will you fight mandos when the goal is to unify the belts?

Because you have to fight Manso’s and they don’t deserve a 50/50 split, 50/50 split as a standard would also damage the promotion side of boxing and the ability to generate interest in fights, but your question was
“Will it be Better for Boxing to Mandate that all PPV Split be 50-50?”
If a champion fights a mandatory that can still be ppv

Of course it would be nice to stop hearing about fights getting held up on monetary splits, but it would never work, it’s not realistic.

Who is going to oversee it and make this demand that it’s 50/50? Nobody has that power to make each side agree to this. The big name fighters and their managers would never go for it. A manager is supposed to try to maximize profits for his fighter. Bigger box office draws have always commanded a larger slice of the pie.

Of course it would be better.

Right now this second we have a challenger (Porter) turning down a a title fight with a P4P ranked title holder (Crawford) because he feels he should get paid more.

How rare is it in boxing that a challenger turns down a title fight? This ish needs to stop.

Be interesting if the sanctioning bodies (or another third party) got involved with mandating splits. That takes the insult element out of a lopsided split and maybe helps fights get made.

A fighter not being able to mandate lopsided splits also incentivizes finding an opponent that's credible enough to bring in their own fanbase. It would make it tough on up and coming fighters to break into the mix though.

If it's not close to 50-50, why's it on PPV anyway? Have the no hope mandatories on free TV so more people can see how great you are and want to pay to see your big fights.

None of this would ever happen though, might as well ask what if we got rid of gravity.

Before that it was closed circuit for the big fights.

That can be a fun experience, but generally PPV is better. It’s just that too much is on PPV.

No that sounds like some communist BS.

Take a fighter who's worked hard to build his status to be a PPV star, every fight is PPV, he fights some nobody who is a mandatory or just to stay busy between more meaningful fights, why would the A side PPV star give over half his purse just because it's PPV when he's the one bringing in 95% of the income?

It would be better for us fans but definitely not for the fighters.. A guy like Canelo shouldn’t 50/50 split with no fighter that can’t sell 1 million PPV buys on their own. It doesn’t make logical sense business wise for fighters.

Only if there isn't a clear 'A-side' (hate that term). So for example, there's no clear a-side between Spence & Crawford, so the fight should be 50/50.
