I don't know. If Pacquiao beats Floyd, Mosley and Williams he could threaten the top 5. And he would have to be superhuman to do that. I don't really think anyone can go further than that.

"Top 5" and "#1" are basically the same thing. I've you are top 5, you're in with Armstrong, Greb etc., if you're in there the case for you can be made for the #1 spot. I agree with you that those three names puts Pacquiao in that sort of company.

It says a lot about Floyd Mayweather Jr that if Pacquaio defeats him, you've got yourself someone who deserves to be spoken of as a top 5 talent.

I don't see Pacquaio beating him, but I think Floyd despite this idea that he won't fight the best at 147, deserves to be talked about in the very top echelon.

With McGrain on the idea that you really can't differentiate between Top #5 and #1.

We would know when someone really special come along worthy of that title. For me if Tyson had not been sidetrack by women and crazy behavior and had gone undefeated through out his career. Also if Roy Jones had retired after Ruiz he would have been the ATG

Exactly old time boxers are rated much higher by the historians, but as they die off the boxers we call recent today will be rated fairly.

Of course it will be possible but that individual has to be truly blessed for a start as well as start boxing at a very young age, love the sport with all his heart, live right, fight & beat the best in his time & be 100% dedicated his entire career & hope his era is a really strong & memorable one full of great fighters to push him... thats the only way Ray Robinson will drop to no2, not impossible but very very very difficult... Id bet against it, certainly within the next 40 or so yrs.

if pbf pushed himself to the limit (picking the best opponents), with the boxing arsenal that he posseses... i think he could have had a good shot of breaking top 5.
