i would say start training with some 16 oz gloves on the bag. that will increase the speed of the job once you remove the weight/go down in weight and overall.
You plan to jab in a fight with that stuff? So no. Get some 14-16oz gloves as others have said. Then get on a heavy bag and work drills. Endurance (quantity) jab. Explosive (surprise/quality) single. Endurance jab. Explosive double. Repeat. When you get tired? Do it again. Jump rope also to condition the arms.
NO, gloves dont make a difference. Just practise throwing your jab, then practise some more, then practise more, then practise more. With or with out gloves it doesnt matter. REPETITION is your answer. Then practise different variations of the jab. like bruce lee said, " i dont fear the man who has practised 1000 kicks 1 time, i fear the man who has practised 1 kick 1000 times" REPETITION
