He is a proper arrogant dickhead - telling people he will refuse to get out of bed for less than £x amount.

Should get on the undercard like everybody else. Daft get ought to realise what happened to the last two British amateurs put on a pedestal!

Good luck to him, but running your mouth off when you have proved absolutely nothing in the pro game isn't going to make people pay to watch you.

Especially when plenty of people are skint ATM!

Degale isnt ready for the pro`s. He`s extremely unpolished and despite his flattering medal just doesnt have the tools to make an impact. For his own career he`d be better of waiting for 2012. But then on the flipside he has to strike while the iron is hot. He may get a nice signing on fee but that will only be from SN. No other outfit will offer him the money he thinks his worth. And thats whats wrong with boxing. As really and truly he should work his way up from the bottom of pile on small hall shows the traditional way.

It is difficult to say what his best interests would be to be honest.

His style is perfectly suited to the amateur game, and would be in with a shot at winning gold. However, knowing how these 'fights' are judged, he will probably get ripped off in the first round and will be yesterday's man. He will then be 26 and the prospects of a decent pro career diminished.

He doesn't have a good pro style, but he has good natural talent. It's workable with the correct fights.

Fair enough, the kid has talent and it MAY be workable.

Alright right then I will. IMHO its not workable, I don't think he's going to make it as a pro. He might, but my money is against it.

I'm off to start the Official ESB "We Hope Degale Fails Express"" thread...;)

I have to agree, I don't think he'll make it as a pro. I also don't want him to, as he is an absolute ****.

to anyone who thinks im wrong about de gales having a good pro style. heres my answer.

hes a tall, strong and well put together guy, allot of amateurs are seem skinny, degale already looks like a pro.

he picks his shots well, throws good combinations (which dont score in amateur) and has fast hands. you can say he throws slappy punches but so does the greatest european figther of all time.

he can switch hit, has good reactions, excellent timing, can fight on the back foot. rises to the occasion, has allot of heart. looks like he can take a punch and has a bit of bang to him. hes a very skillful and slick fighter.

also bear in mind he did what he had to do to win the olympics. he is an elite athlete and no doubt hes going to have to fine tune a few things when hes pro, but he has all the physical and mental attributes you need.

like amir khan we could beat most guys up to english title level just by being really fit, but khan went backwards from the olympics, if degale gets it right then we would have a real top pro on our hands.

also hes just not been advised properly when talking about money. he needs to elarn to shut up about these things i know. other than than he comes across to me as a typical london boy who doing well for himself, slightly arrogant but if you look at all the best fighters in history, the one things they all have in common is arrogance to the max.
