in reality, even though RJJ fights on, I remember him as he was. Same with Toney. And Holyfield. Same with Michael Jordan. I think people are capable of distinguishing between prime and shot versions of athletes.

Knowing Dana White, he might hire Toney (who will go broke long before that time from spending all of his money on fast food and steroids) to work as a janitor. Cameras will zoom on him with the broom (think Uncle Rucus from Boondocks), with the title "Former Boxing Champion of the World" and then go back to the event.

****ing Toney. It wasn't Couture that f-ed him in the A. It was UFC that F-ed boxing in the A. And Toney is the reason.

I just hope that steroid beast of a man Olistar Overim will go through with his promise of fighting Vitali Klitschko. Boxing needs reassurance and to even the score with MMA.

He will def. be remember with people that follow boxing. But Toney has to realize he will perhaps not be remember the way he would love to or his close fans will like. Toney has disrespected a lot of people and cultures and in the past few years his career has been far from what it use to be. Unfortunately this will play a huge role on the way he will be remember, but only Toney could point the finger at himself.

Most of us do now. But future generations will look at their overall win/loss record and think they weren't that special at all.

It was Vitali who declined fight with him back in 2010. It was too risky for him. He instead fighted joke fighter Sosnowsnibum.

Why lie? Vitali offered phoney 1.5 mil for a fight. Phoney refused. Vitali is a G, he doesn't make an offer twice.

Just had to point out the LIE you just told on the forum, so people reading don't get this crazy idea that someone is genuinely avoiding a fat slob that got beat by a 50 year old.

What lie? You are talking about 2005 offer when i spoke about 2010

Vitali declined fight with Toney in march of 2010. Toney declined 35/65 cut back in 2005 and wanted more. Hr got more money fighting Rahman for WBC belt later.

Also Wladimir declined Toney in favor of Rahman (who toney made quit in three rounds couple of months before) back in 2008. Toney also tried to make fight happen when Haye pulled out against Wlad in 2009 So its not like Toney was scared of them, like that ****** wrote.

Toney has constantly tried to make those fight happen, with both Klitchko brothers.

the 1st thing that should come out of the mouth of any respecting boxing fan when discussing james toney is "drug cheat".

its sickenning the amount of people on here that are prepared to sweep drug cheating under the carpet. a fully concivted banned anabolic steroid drug cheat like toney, jones, or mosley should have an instant 3 year ban from the sport, with a 2nd positive test being a life-time ban from the sport.

Yes. His legend will grow over time in fact. Once all the fat pictures and Burger King jokes have been forgotten, history will recognize a natural middleweight who had enough skill and steel to move up and exchange punches with natural heavyweights. And the video evidence of his epic fights with Nunn, McCallum, Jirov, Barkley, Holyfield etc will always show a guy with ATG skills and technique.

Floyd, Manny, Sergio, Khan and Wlad will be remembered as the best of this era. This is a time when lighter divisions rule and guys like Toney will be an afterthought known only by the hardcore fans.
