Great one! Gay gloves - you do realise they most resemble the actual gloves used in old school boxing rather than the ****in' great pillows worn today.

And of course the outfits worn by many of today's just reek man - case in point the man in your av.

    Great self ownage!

It won't make it more appealing - but it will stop you posting and encouraging troll's whilst having a whinge about other trolls in the other thread. :think

The gloves are not similar to old school gloves other than the fact they're light.

I preferred it when Royce Gracie was fighting sumos :deal

Really, I don't remember them wearing those gloves ?? I'll go back tonight and watch some SRR footage, and if he has 4 sausage fingers spouting out of the end of his gloves then i'll report back here and apologise :good

As for the shorts, I know for a fact that if some 'roided up' 6ft testosterone freak was to writhing around on top of me getting a sweat on, i'd DEFINITELY rather him be wearing shorts akin to the ones Khan is wearing as opposed to these....

    Why do I give a ****?

I've done my fair share of training. I've already said I think Couture will win as soon as it goes to the ground, I'm hardly saying 'boxing is superior'.

Why d'ya let the trolls get to ya anyway? You got an inferiority complex or summat?

Need to look a bit earlier than SRR - great to see the history of the sport is important. Take a look at reproductions of famous lithiographs and sketches of fights from the late 1800's and you might be there.

Don't be telling me about the gloves from Fitz's era; they ain't similar to MMA other than weight.

Why defend troll topic starters then hate on them in another thread? :think

My stance - fantastic that some troll doesn't like MMA, just keep it to yourself rather than starting upteen threads saying mind blowing analysis like "MMA is gay". I come here to read informed posters , not attention whores who crap on with this stuff.

Proof is in the pudding :good I don't see no 'fingerless' gloves above :good

Funny how men who wear Lycra shorts and hand out 'reach arounds' as punishment in the ring wear fingerless gloves.......:lol:

They are reasonably different (manufacturing and materials have advanced a bit) but as you said close in weight and made out of leather. Not that far off.

And of course having trained Thai than you would know the Muay Boran fighters with hemp bound hands are a harkening back to the bare minimum gloves or wraps used once in the sport.

    True.

But its the abrasive material that made the old school gloves so deadly.

No you are right they don't look like 12oz Reyes. But then again they look more like todays gloves than the fingerless ones used in MMA - Do they not ?
