Cox has fought no where near the level that Groves has.
The only time he fought someone with a winning record he got beat (Sai) everyman and his dog had Cox losing that one. He hasnt fought anyone of real note, he had a big lay off and hasnt fought anyone since hes come back.
There was a time many moons ago whrn we sll had high expectations for Cox but that was a long time ago and hes never showed anything like we thought he might be able to.
Hes going in against a guy thats been at the top for a long time now. Groves has fought real top quality fighters hed beat some and lostvto some. Groves exoerience is a million miles away ftom Coxs.
Can we really expect anything other than Cox get his P45 handed to him on a plate?

The odds are too close in this one, and I believe that in this case gambling isn't much of a gamble.

I said in a previous thread his only chance is to chin Groves. Groves has been sparked out before. If Cox lands flush he could go. Highly unlikely though.

    Short answer - yes.

Although Groves is not the fighter he was. He looks jaded in the ring, the issues Gutknecht suffered since their fight has also psychologically scarred him.

I have seen absolutely nothing to back up what you are stating. Sure his confidence took a hit after Froch 1 & 2, but I believe that made him a better, more mature fighter and he has learned from that.

Yeah, he didn't exactly let up on Chudinov when he was uploading. Maybe winning that title will restore some confidence

I have to agree. He’s grown up since his defeats to Froch & Jack and he’s a much better fighter for it. I don’t see a jaded fighter at all...he’s only 29 and looks in excellent shape.

It wasn’t a vintage performance against Chudinov, but the lad was incredibly tough, he was like the Terminator. He just kept walking forwards and taking shots that would KO other opponents. You can’t shine against opponents like that. He deserves more credit for stopping a very good fighter (with an excellent amateur record) in Chudinov.

People are fancying Eubank Jn for the inevitable clash early next year, but Groves has shown in his fights against Jack (he was v unlucky to lose that) and Chudinov that he can work well against pressure fighters.

Cox knocked out Badou Jack, so he could probably knock out Groves too but I just see Groves as a different level.

    cox is too small

I could see the southpaw stance giving groves something to think about but groves will stop him rounds 7-9

I think he is tbh, I got 6/4 on Groves by stoppage on Paddypower, those odds have shifted now though.

Cox looked awful on the Brook v Spence card.

    Was very easy to hit.

It never happened, do you mean the Badou Jack vs Derek Edwards fight?
