leave like a lamb ?? He burst on the scene destroying everyone and everything in his path, then the real challenges started and he was found wanting. Is this him done now ? Thoughts
Well, he might be done in terms of ever beating Usyk. It was quite a schooling he received. On the other hand he's a massive dude with good fundamentals, even if he isn't terribly creative in the ring. His promotional outfit is top class and he can still get big money fights with Wilder and Fury. I reckon he's got those two fights to make and the Usyk rematch. Still a decent pile of dosh to make.
I doubt the bout against Wilder will ever come off, unless belts are involved. Fury vs Joshua, I think, will happen regardless. There are a lot of good matches to be made with Joshua, win or lose against Usyk. I think Wilder would knock him out and Fury would outclass him.
Apparently McCraken said something along the lines of "Joshua would beat Usyk 9 times out of 10. It was just one of those nights" to Carl Froch. I am paraphrasing somewhat but given how deluded Joshua and Hearn appear to be, I'm not massively surprised to hear Rob just thinks Joshua had a bad night at the office.
AJ. Take your money now and run, leave behind your sport. You go out as a two time champ and bags of money. If you carry on you will find yourself Gettin more and more hurt. Walk away lad. You've played all the games you'll play.
He shoulda fought Fury before Usyk. Losing to Fury wouldn't have been as big a deal as the Usyk loss is. And he still coulda had the Usyk and Wilder fights to cash out on. The Fury fight might not happen now...I don't see him coming back and beating Usyk in the rematch...then Fury is 100% off the table. I also get the feeling that Wilder demolishes him early...if Wilder can land on Ortiz and stop him in two separate fights...Joshua don't have a chance. He ain't gonna have Wilder fightin on the backfoot either and his head movement and upper body agility is atrocious. For as big as he is...he still has a fragility about him. Even on his way to the ring sometimes I'm thinkin he might get hurt by his trainer somehow or he might be injured on a sharp corner lol...reminds me of Michael Grant sometimes. Joshua best avoid Deontay. If he is to go any further in his career he had better go back to the drawing board and focus fully 100% on having one hell of a showing in the Usyk rematch.
He should, when usyk owns is rear again and i believe it will be easier for him to do next time, that will absolutely mentally destroy him. People compare him and believe him to be better than Bruno, but for all his faults big Frank always went in there knowing he was having a fight and actually put up one, against some good fighting men as well, the version of Josh against Usyk would not have lasted six rounds against the Bonecrushers witherspoons etc, heck i would even have Jumbo Cummings sparking him out. Do as Ritchie Woodhall did, be happy and content with climbing the mountain and walk away with his dough and faculties intact.
Not only has he grotesquely out earned Usyk to this point of their careers. I reckon he will out earn him from this point on as well.
Wilder`s finished, he`s 35 and going nowhere, I can gaurantee Usyk will go on to have a much better career than Wilder.
