Will Kessler's experience vs. Ward help or hurt him going into the Froch fight?

Ward schooled Kessler! Did Kessler learn from this schooling? Will he be better for it? Or, did Ward take something out of Kessler and is this the beginning of the end for him? In short, how will Kessler's last fight affect, help or hurt him in his next fight?

Hurt more then anything. He didnt respond well after the Joey Slap loss, and hiring a psyche coach just makes me feel Kessler is extremely fragile mentally.

The more I think of it, the more I see Froch hurting Kessler. Stylistically Kessler should win, but Froch has heart, is determined and as shown against Dirrell will body slam his way to a victory if he has to. Kessler gave up against Ward

    He'll be determined.

It doesn't matter that much, since any vaguely fit version of Kessler will knock the **** out of Froch.

I've been picking Kessler to beat Froch, but that is the best argument I've heard for Froch yet. Makes a lot of sense.

Well in the Ward fight he either
threw the fight or got "old" before our eyes and can't pull the trigger anymore.

We will see as he has 3 fights to go.

He has 2 fights to go. If he loses of course. If he wins, he has 3 or even 4 fights to go. In Super Six of course.

the blueprint was created by Calzaghe where Calzaghe had to adapt and find the strategy/tactics to win DURING THE FIGHT, ward just took what calzaghe did and did it from the first bell. ALl credit to ward and his trainer in looking at what calzaghe did and what worked. Dissapointed with Kessler he had no answer when calzaghe changed tactics and when ward met him.

How can we tell? This is the biggest test of Kessler's career - he was tha man after Calzaghe moved up - now he has been soundly beaten by the new American prospect.

How he reacts to this in the rest of the super 6 will define him.

I'm sure it will help him in a lot of ways. He will certainly have learned something from that fiasco, which is never make the mistake of taking on a big name US contender in the US. The way in which Ward was allowed to use him head as a third fist/battering ram and cut up Kessler's face was disgusting to see, but you can't really expect anything else over there. If he fights any of the Americans (Taylor, Dirrell or Ward again) he must insist on the fight being on neutral ground rather than risk a repeat of that fiasco.

As for his next fight, I don't think he'll need to have learned too much. Froch is honestly made to order for him, he isn't as fast/slick/tricky as Ward, isn't as subtly dirty and doesn't have hometown officials to let him do what the hell he wants. Kessler will have his way with him i feel, though hope I am wrong.

It probably devastated him from a mental standpoint. Here he was thinking he was the **** in this tournament only to be dominate dand humliated by Ward. That can't be any good for your pysche.

Although I do expect him to turn up a better performanc versus Froch, I just don't think Kessler will have the same confidence as he did before and he won't regain it unless he goes far in the tournament.

I think there can be several different effects. Obviously, he has lost quite some confidence as a result of this defeat.

On the other hand, I think he is realizing, that he has wasted two years following the Calzaghe defeat, and that he needs to train more seriously when not fighting tomato cans. He must be much better prepared against Froch.

The match against Froch will be a defining point of his career. I look forward to see if he can rise from his defeat.

Not necessarily because he didn't just lose but he was outclassed in the process of the fight. When a fighter gets outclassed that does something to their psyche as far as questioning themselves to how good they actually are.

depends of the psycho of the fighter.. If a loss breaks him he should drive a bus... BTW this reasoning is one of the factors that lead the promoters to protect their fighter's 0 at all costs... usually via matching their fighters with cns all the time...

Nothing other than Froch's jab should cause an issue.

It won't be murder like the Kessler of the Calzaghe fight commited, but it will be a victory.
