He has one of the most outrageous overall amateur records, but is 27 and still fighting in the "amateurs". Is their any indication that he's going to sign with anyone on the traditional pro ranks?
A shame if he doesn't. IMO he's the only amateur boxer worth seeing the rest are just dancers playing tag.
He shouldn't. Amateurs can make comfortable money, too. Not millions but much better than working 9-5. If he goes pro, he will be exposed to the dirty business boxing is and be robbed once he's in a fight that matters.
If you lose in the amateurs you go on and make the same money. If you get robbed in the pros, you're being called a bum, have difficulties finding another payday and get avoided if you're really good.
