Wlad's coming off 7 straight wins with 4 straight KO's including, Byrd, Brock, Austin & Brewster. Lamon has never been KO'd or TKO'd before, neither has Calvin Brock, at least before they fought Wlad. Peter was given his very 1st loss vs. Wlad and so was Castillo. Wlad has his mandatory out of the way easily since he faced 2 in in a row including Austin & Brewster. He appears to be too much of a challenge for Sultan since Iggy chose to fight Holyfield rather than unify vs. Wlad. That deal was done before I even heard Chagaev had to cancel due to health issues. That reeks of fear to me anyway. The only boxers who call Wlad out are undeserving losers like Briggs, Williamson, etc. That speaks volume of how the other beltholders avoid getting the unification match done.
Vitali? Hes next after Maskaev/Peter. Wlad? Hopefully hell fight a good opponent next time and then unify with someone.
VK was promised a fight with Maskaev/Peter way before McCall became the SECOND mandatory. Get your facts straight.
I don't understand the WBC at all. 1st they make Vitali "Emeritus Champion" meaning that he can return at any time to challenge for his belt. Then they make Peter the mandatory & Vitali wants to unretire simultaneously. Then they make another eliminator, which McCall won, all before the current **** is sorted out. Crazy. :nut
I was just asking. Anyways, is Mccal going to have a fight b4 he faces the winner of ?/Vitali? Like a stay active fight agianst a journyman or somthing?
I think their game plan was to make sure their belt doesn't get unified. making the Mcall the second mandatory was a complete joke. Hell they might as well have their own tourny as well and make a long list of mandatories. So what the **** is Mcall going to do in the mean time...........besides get even older?:verysad
I'm not sure to be honest, the WBC is such a shithole right now that I wouldn't be suprised if they elected ANOTHER mandatory. My guess is that McCall will end up fighting some fringe contender (and if he has good management), who just stands there and engages rather then box. If McCall hasn't lost, he will fight for the WBC title....eventually..he's not getting any younger though.
