Vitali said he was never coming back..... he came back destroyed Gomez and Peter. He still has it.

If Vitali racks up another big win, will Lewis be tempted to come back? I highly doubt it but money does strange things to people. If Lewis was guaranteed 50 mil+ would he do it?

I need to track down the demands that Lewis laid out before he'd agree to a rematch - they're hilarious! The sad thing is that Vitali treats them like they're deadly serious; he's got a serious hard-on for this.

NO, lewis talked about staying around too long, why would he wanna end up like Holy, Tyson, Holmes, and Louis and lose to someone he would have outclassed and destroyed in his prime?

There is no need for a rematch, the champion beat the challenger from what I remember.

If VITLAY was a decent HW Champ he'd have torn the crown from the old guy as is the norm, but he didn't so he doesn't get a rematch.

Yeah that may be true but at the same time the fight was only 6 rounds and most of Vitali's ko's against tough competition are in the 8th-10th rounds. Vitali almost had him in the second and you could see down the stretch that Lewis was getting tired. Not to mention Klitschko took the fight on like 3 weeks notice

It doesn't matter when VITLAYS KO's against tough opposition normally come, he didn't last that long against the best fighter he's ever fought, it really is that simple. Lewis busted him up so badly that a late round KO was out of the question because VITLAY would have been blinded by that stage anyway. He was given 3 rounds with a horrific injury to do the job, he tried his best and wasn't good enough.

Klitschko took the fight on 3 weeks notice....well so did Lewis. That's no excuse at all.

:good Great post, People forget that vitali was in with an old, inactive out of shape LL and he still couldn't win, this was a passing of the torch sorta fight, similar to Louis vs Marciano, Ali vs Holmes, Holmes vs Tyson. The fact of the matter is Vitali was in with a version of Lewis that was worse than than the 1 that got KTFO by Rahman and he still lost.

    Agreed.

Ultimately, Klitschko should be honoured that he was afforded the opportunity to face the champion and concede that he wasn't quite good enough to beat him. No need to be too downhearted about it.

Problem with that fight is that Lennox has been retired for what 5 years? Why would a guy who is 43 years old and retired for 5 years going to be worth 50 million? If Klitchko wins no one is going to say he beat the real Lennox Lewis. That fight will not happen. A fighter usually does not comeback after 5 years retired.

No need to be downhearted about it agreed, but if you watch any interview with VITLAY since that fight you'd think he'd actually won some kind of battle :rofl:rofl:rofl

The ***** hasn't stopped calling Lewis out since, and it's pathetic and embarrassing. As I originally said, if he was that good he'd have beaten the ageing champion as is the norm, but he wasn't that good, he got owned and that's the end of it. Unless you're a rabid Klit-ite of course.
