Will he have to be beaten by a fighter to be considered at the top end of the SMW division.

I personally don't think he quite has it to mix it with the top boys but i don't think he'll lose to any average fighter, he's a good lower end top 10 fighter.

He brings excitement to a fight and I'd put him in with Miranda for real fireworks now that Kessler decided to skip his Showtime appearance...

Yeah can't deny the guy has an exciting style and could overwhelm a lot of fighters but i don't think he has the tools to mix it at a higher level. Him against Miranda would be a great fight.

I don't see Andrade being or at least staying a champion any long...
He will be a great stepping stone to others though.

Right now he is above gatekeeper level. Bika is a gatekeeper - Andrade no.

ANdrade needs to go to 160, maybe there his punches will hurt people. If he can go down and keep his shot absorbing technique he can be a champ.

I think Andrade can have a great run at SMW if Joe and Kess move up to LHW.......who will beat him....Bute, Mundine?

Andrade has a big frame. I dont know if 160 is healthy for him however if he does. Pavlik's days are over. Pavlik would not hurt him and he sure as hell would hurt Pavlik with his power and relentless style and stamina.
At 168 he could get lucky and take a belt but i dont think he would keep it for long.

At 168, Andrade is more than a gatekeeper. Bika is a gatekeeper, being a good contender and all. Guys like Stieglitz are decent contenders, but not as good as Bika. They ain't in the top 10, but they're still contenders. Andrade is a very good contender, better than a gatekeeper. He is top 5, man, so he ain't a gatekeeper. Andrade could become Champ soon. Gatekeepers don't become Champs.

I agree with the last feller. If Andrade cannot get a belt at SMW he should go down to 160. He doesn't seem to have problem making weight. He came in quite a bit under last time around, against Stieglitz. At 160, Andrade definitely wins a belt.

Well lets see. Calzaghe left 168 now.
So who is top 5 at 168??? Anyone know at 168 i ahve just been following Kessler Calzaghe Bute Andrade and now Miranda. Green a little but no way Green beats Andrade.

I reckon so. He's rough but tough.

    Kessler
    Mundine/Bute
the guy who wins Froch v. Inkin/Andrade

Taylor is yet to fight at 168.

Andrade has beaten better fighters than Froch and Inkin. I reckon he's better than the winner between these two. If he ain't, I rate him Top 5. Need to see Inkin v. Froch first though.

I for my part would rank the winner of Froch vs Inkin ahead of him.
I still dont know what to think of Braehmer. Some years ago I thought that he would conquer his weight division. He hasnt been the same since he is out of prison, but my gut feeling still keeps telling me that he has the tools to beat fighters like Inkin, Froch, or Andrade.

Only if the winner is Froch. Inkin cannot take Andrade's pressure. Froch's got the chin. Maybe could outpoint him.

Brahmer? The fact that he asked to be removed from the WBA 168 rankings and to be ranked at 175 instead tells me plenty. He was no. 1 challenger to Mundine. Looks like he wants an easy shot at the WBA 175 title or a slightly harder shot at the WBO 168 title, where he's still ranked no. 1. Won't take any of the big boys, though. I have him around the Top 10 spot. Not sold on him more than that.
