Will Loma make Linares quit?

He might stop him, but I don't believe Linares will quit even if he actually wants to.

I think the closest he will get is by a cuts stoppage. I can’t see Linares voluntarily giving up. Doesn’t seem like the kinda want that would. Most of the guys that have quit always talked a big talk pre fight. Whereas Linares is relatively quiet and respectful from all I’ve seen. So there’s less humiliation there if he was to get dominated

 

A couple of days ago Gvozdyk said in an interview that if Loma does it this time, it would be astonishing and every other boxer should hang the gloves up and say "boxing is not for me".

So, I would say no as well. I believe Loma will rather knock Linares out than makes him quit. A cuts stoppage is possible, yes, but if a doctor calls it, that's not even quitting, in fact.

 

Linares cuts easily, but it generally requires the opponent to possess heavy hands. I don't think Loma has the power to open up his face. Maybe if Loma lands non stop on the same place over many rounds.

Loma victims have never taken savage beatings where they look like they've been in a war.

 

Loma is rising up in the weights now. Loma is fighting Linares a big strong 135 lb fighter. Stoppage by cuts or pts win most likely.

 

I can see it happening on cuts, but that wouldn't be quitting if the ref stops it.

Linares is a dog. Been a dog. I think everyone is overlooking the kid.

 

I see a lot of talent with linares but an execution that doesn't match

he doesn't seem like a 12 round fighter and hasn't impressed me in his last few

wouldn't surprise me if loma makes it look like a mismatch after a few rounds

 

If however, he's cut in a dire way and getting schooled.....and his cornerman is the one that waves it off. That's a quitjob.

 

The ref or the corner, I agree, but Linares will never say no mas.

 

Loma said that Linares better be at the post fight presser after he loses. I guess Walters/Sosa/Marriaga/Rigo were no shows.

 

Linares might lose but he's still a Real champion with pride. He didn't quit against Demarco when his Face started falling apart.
