Loma definitely can surpass GGG. It's all about promotion.
Loma has out of this world skill, similar to floyd and Pac.
He and his team just have to keep performing and give the public what they want to see.
    Eventually they will catch on.

I miss Larry Merchant. He could answer this question. He also would have been the right guy to interview Rigo after the fight.

Yes I think he will. His problem will be finding opponents that can raise his stock.

Golovkin didnt start becoming bigger than the sport (and its debatable if he even is) at age what.... 33? 34?

Loma is 29 and he is starting to build up the type of momentum and recognition that leads to stardom.

He's already as popular as GGG and he has a couple of more years to build his brand. Barring injuries, drugs, death, or prison, I can't think of what would seriously set him back. #metoo People might drop him if he loses, but then again they might not.

I think Lomachko will surpass Golovkin because Golovkin is not active anymore. Oscar has destroyed his career by making him become inactive! El Pollo does not want a rematch, he will fight the winner of Lemieux/Saunders next, not Golovkin.

traditionally, achieving any degree of stardom has been harder for lower weight fighters. but rules are meant to be broken

And Loma has to improve his English (he's doing ok now, but it is still far from fluent)! It's a must. Without it no chance at all. Especially with such crappy interpreters as his manager.

He would have to get to at the very least 140 and have a big dance partner to beat. Bud will be gone, maybe he meets Mikey down the road at 140?

Superstardom like GGG/Canelo has to be above WW though.

Although I don't believe your claim that Loma made $1.2M in his fight with Sosa (his 9th) fight, I believe he might be capable of overtaking Golovkin. But that has more to do with Golovkin being near the end of his career. Also going just by numbers, if you pick the biggest earner in history (Floyd) his 9th fight against 1-13-1 Jesus Chavez, I doubt he made much money at that point of his career.
Time and career path are a huge factor here and Lomachenko, Golovkin and Floyd all had entirely different career paths.

    Hope you are right.

Lomachenko is more skilled than Golovkin and also doing better than Golovkin was at his age. But on other hand the public tend to like Golovkin's style and KOs, plus Canelo was around to give GGG a superfight.

Golovkins world career really started at age 33, and his attempt at entering elitedom at age 35. of course Nomas is ahead of him, by 7 years at least.
