Who are those guys who beat Pac and Hopkins early in their careers? Don't be this dumb.

Agreed. Loma has been doing from the start what a lot of great fighters didn’t do until they were 20+ fights deep into their careers. Loma’s willingness to skip that part of a boxers career (fighting bums) should be applauded, not work against him.

Salido didn't have three weight class world title and, unlike Loma, barely getting anything important in his 12th fight.

Loma suffered his lost in pro fight in his second bout against 2x world champion on split controversial decision. Salido got TKOed in his first pro fight against complete nobody.

Probably ?? He'll be on course or will be there with thee elite all timers, like SRR etc. Some would say TBE if he beats another half dozen top 10 fighters. I don't think he has 5 yr left in him though tbh to go through 12+ fighters. I give it 2 yrs before his fantastic elite style starts to dip !

Hard to say if he keeps facing top opponents one after the other then maybe but if he fights someone the likes of marriaga and sosa inbetween fights then i might doubt it.

Actually I've always been a pretty big fan of De La Hoya.... the boxer, the promoter.... not so much. But that pretty much applies to all promoters with me.

    on current trajectory of course.

but he could retire tomorrow as merely an elite "novice"

No. He has too much to do and too little time (He's 30).

EDIT. Oh.. you meant.. an all time great, not THE all time great. Yes he will.

Here's a question for you. Who would win between an 18 year old Loma, and a 26 year old version of Loma just before he entered the pros?

What Loma has done is unprecedented, but this is not the example you want to use to reinforce your argument. You and anybody else that constantly keep using this as an example are just making fools of yourself. Age and experience matters, even if it's just the amateurs you will still learn the many mental aspects of fighting a live opponent. On top of that your body hasn't reached it's physical peak at 18.

You can't compare Loma's career to a typical pro fighter's career, he wanted to win multiple gold medals and leave his mark as the best of his time in the amateurs. He joined the pro ranks at a much later stage in his career, so stop trying to compare it with other careers when there is such a huge age and experience disparity.
