This is what Mac was qouted as saying in the Daily Mirror:

    Haye: I want Maccarinelli

Haye's world title glory Champ: I want Maccarinelli

    David Haye (getty)

David Haye has challenged Enzo Maccarinelli to a showdown to prove who is Britain's biggest puncher.
Haye called out hard-hitting Maccarinelli after stopping Frenchman Jean-Marc Mormeck in seven rounds in Paris to become the WBA and WBC cruiserweight world champion.
The Londoner plans to step back up to heavyweight following his 19th stoppage in 20 wins - and wants his next fight to be against Welshman and WBO rival Maccarinelli.
The pair are the best cruiserweights in the world and Haye said: "I'd go anywhere to fight him. It would be great for the fans and I'd love to get it on.

"I'll fight him anywhere, even in front of his home fans in Cardiff.
The only thing is, it's got to be at heavyweight. I feel I'm the best fighter in the world, even at heavyweight.
Some people weren't 100 per cent about me, but there can't be any doubts now."
Haye against Maccarinelli would be the biggest domestic dust-up for years and the Swansea fighter is interested.
However Big Mac said it would be madness for him to step up a division when he is comfortable at cruiserweight. "You have to admire David," he said. "He's a good fighter.
"But I don't think for a minute it's going to happen at heavyweight. I'd be stupid to jump in at 15 stone as it's not my weight limit. I'd definitely fight him at any time, but I can't give away two stone of natural weight."
But Haye, who stopped Tomasz Bonin in one round on his heavyweight debut this year, does not want to fight at cruiserweight again.
He claimed he was weakened against Mormeck - who had Haye on the canvas in round four - by having to diet so much to reach 14st 4lbs.
"I'm skin and bones," said Haye. "It's too much of a slog for me to make 90 kilos and it takes too much out of my system."

Mac used to be able to make 190 with ease.He now fights up at 200 and makes that with ease. His done his maths and says his giving up 2 stone in weight?:huh If the fight happens at 15 stone thats only a diffrence of 10lbs.Or just under a stone. Is he really that scared? Fast loosing respect for this guy now.We know his world class. We know he can punch. But not to put his balls on the line when he clearly knows David cant make 14.4 is ludicrous.

No becuase mac will not fight haye at heavyweight and he is now as good as ducking him, saying he wants to fight him and then says only at cruiswerwight when everybody knows this was hayes last fight at cruiserweight. He bascially thinks his only chance is to fight a weakend and weight drained haye and thats about it.

But Mac isnt a heavyweight... too small so it wouldnt make sense to go there. I dont think we'll ever really know what happened during those negotiations, will we?

We know exactly what happend, Macca accepted the terms, as did Haye, to fight once on a Sports Network show at Millenium Stadium. But then the terms got changed.

Warren knows Haye is 1000 times more marketable than Macceranelli, if Haye had signed that deal, he would of wanted Haye to win the fight!

Macarinelli walks about well over 200lbs as well, he's lying about that too. Manufacturing more bull**** to stay away from the Hayemaker.

bottom line is this....who is renowned for taking hard fights and who has previous for being a *****-titted handpicker?

200lbs is essentially a heavy. The cruiser division was CREATED for SMALL heavies. Holy and Bryd both fought and have fought at under 210lbs as heavys. Haye is only asking him to fight at 210lbs. You can bet your bottom dollar he walks around above this.So what is the problem other than Macs balls shrinking?

Yeh its 100% BULL **** Macceranelli saying he is weighing less now than he did on fight night, thats absolutley impossible.

There is no way Enzos flabby body could take those body shots from Haye!

Enzo doesnt walk around much higher than 200lbs, he used to make 190 easily, and form his physique you can see putting added weight on to fight at heavy wouldnt suit him.

Enzo has nothing to do with who he fights, its down to his promoter. ENzo fought braithwaite, and was due to fight Haye and Big Truck but terms couldnt be agreed. Its not maccarinelli that sits down drawing up the fight contracts. Given the chance Enzo would've fought Haye, infact he'd already signed the contract!! Do some of you guys really believe Enzo is "scared" of Haye? The guy is a world champion who believes in his own ability, hell Enzo Calzaghe could make me believe I could swim the atlantic, great motivator.

Look at Joe Calzaghe, everyone was slagging him off for being affriad of this and that, not many are saying it now, yet its the same Joe with the same mentality. He'd have fought Ottke in germany at the drop of the hat. Agreed to fight Hopkins even.

One minute did you not read the article? Those were Macs words.. not someone elses. Hayes says he`ll fight Mac.Haye cant make 200. Mac knows this.So Hayes says lets make the fight at 210.Mac then renagues and bottles it saying he`ll fight him anytime but just not at 10lbs heavier? That doesnt sound like a guy who wants to fight him anytime.

Dude these men are bonafide heavyweights. Not **** thin fleaweights. If Mac is soft at 210 hit the gym it aint that hard.Meanwhile Haye has just fought the undisputed number 1 at cruiser. Meanwhile Enzo is taking on Crusier weight leftovers and talking up Ezra Sellers and Bobby Gunn. That does himself NO FAVORS at all.

yeah I read it, he's just unified the cruiser division and presumably Mac wants a shot at the titles. Haye knows Mac cant make 210 without putting excess on, just as Mac knows Haye is weakened by losing those last 10lbs.

"Hit the gym it aint that hard" - to put it on properly I presume it is, also, its just as damaging as taking it off too quickly isnt it?

    Just a stalemate isnt it.

Putting weight on for a fight isnt counter productive providing you have the right coaches and nutrionist. Loosing muscle memory and musculature to make weight can in some cases kill you. Enzo needs to put on a mere 10lbs.As a cruiser thats not a tall order. His making pathetic excuses.

Presumably he'd get a new one if he were that unhappy with how things were being handled.

If Enzo wanted to fight Haye, the fight could be made easily. We've seen proof of Haye's willingness to fight anyone anywhere.

If Haye announced today that he'd changed his mind and could stay at Cruiser and fight Enzo, we already know what would happen because we've already seen it. Enzo would drop a load in his pants and Frank Warren would set about ensuring that it didn't happen.

The only reason Enzo is running his mouth off about a potential fight at Cruiser is because he is happy to coattail on someone elses well-earned success for some cheap publicity and because he knows with certainty that its not going to happen :deal
