Manny was supposed to get 50-50 in March with Floyd,a chance to get $40m in one fight. For reasons best known to him he turned it down, took a rubbish fight no one wanted to watch and only did 700k ppv.

Now numbers suggest he deserves 35-40% depending on the metrics used and the guaranteed purse has gone down.Whatever rational Manny is using of claiming 45% we do not know because numbers disgree with his assertations.

So Manny wants to turn down the fight and fight Margarito. That is a risky fight.Margarito is a good fighter and there are no guarantees in boxing & Manny is not guaranteed a win,if Margarito knocks Manny out then that's the end of Manny.Remember when Mosley fought Winky Wright and all of a sudden Mosley 'had a ****** on his back, couldnt move and lost the fight'.The second problem is Margarito is not very popular and Pacquiao's numbers could go down to 650k which would mean his share of a future fight with Mayweather will fall further.

There are those who will say Manny doesnt need Mayweather.I disagree,Manny made $7.5m in his last fight, will make $8m against Margarito, how can he not need someone who could have made him $40m?

Assuming Manny Pacquiao is a rational being i.e he prefers more money to less money, prefers less risk to more risk will he live to regret turning this fight down?

    why?

Manny already has more money than he knows what to do with
Makes more money from sponsers than Floyd does.
Will be recognized as 2000's FOTD
    Has a secured legacy
Has a post-boxing career lined up.

The real question is will Floyd regret not facing Pacquiao because he already regrets his 2 year hiatus and rejecting the easy $20 mill Dlh rematch.

I believe he's already happy with what he's earned, it's enough to live whatever lifestyle he pretty much chooses.. More more more seems to be more of a Western culture thing.

The mans probably going to be president of the Phillipines someday so I don't think he'll regret much.

So now Manny supposedly makes another concession, willing to accept 45-55 and he is pricing himself out of the fight? lol ****ing *****s will never be happy until Manny is bent over, pants down, with Mayweather drilling him. I'm sure they'd probably have a wank over it too.

Pac sold 700k pretty much ON HIS OWN against Clottey, with not much promotion. Mayweather and Mosley together did 1.4 million, with a 24/7 and intense promotional campaign.

Pac's previous fight got 1.5 million buys, against a guy who did 400K PPV buys with Mosley and is a similar draw to him.

Also, add their last 2 ppvs:

    Pac 1.5+700k= 2.2
    Mayweather 1+1.4= 2.4

    = 48-52

    How's them metrics?

Do those numbers only cover PPV numbers in the states?

    I say again - 45-45 each, 10 to the winner, **** it - I'll make a poll.

The most important thing about the thread question was 'Assuming Manny is rational.A rational person prefers more money to less money. He prefers less risk to more risk.'

Now about fighting by himself. The same Manny refused to fight Mosley. His coach said 'there is no money in fighting Mosley'.That's very true because Mosley has never been a PPV star. How many ppv did Mosley do fighting Mayorga or Margarito?Do you know people paid $25 to watch Mosley fighting margarito?

yeah sorry, those are PPV buys in the states

worldwide i can imagine Pac is a much bigger draw than Floyd

he still has every right to not bend from 50-50 imo, but he's ok with 45-55 to make the fight. everyone should be happy with that.

    I think he will.

**** the money. Manny has enough of that already. Whilst an extra 40 million would be nice, it is not as if Pac will be broke if he doesn't except the fight.

And **** Pac's and Floyd's legacy's as they stand at the minute. Yes they are both secure and both fighters will go down as ATG's but if they want to add to that legacy and solidify themselves as the greatest of their era then this fight needs to happen.

This is why i think Pac will regret it in the future if he doesn't fight Floyd. Deep down he will never know if he was truly the best P4P fighter of his generation. Pac is ultra competitive and i reckon that whilst he will be very proud of everything he has accomplished in his career there will be that nagging doubt if he doesn't fight Floyd. It won't give him to many sleepless nights as he has had a wonderful career anyway, but in his quieter moments he may look at it as a great opportunity that got away. An opportunity to truly test him to his fullest against the best opponent of his era.

I don't understand some fans feelings on this when they say that these two don't need each other. Ok, like i said before, both are ATG's already but both could add greatly to their respective legacy's if they beat the other one.

There is no other fight out there for either fighter that could add to their legacys as much as this fight. Someone in another post a few days ago said that Floyd moving up to 154 or 160 to fight Martinez would be a greater achievement but i disagree. Whilst winning a title in a new weight division against the best fighter in that division is legacy enhancing it is not as legacy enhancing as beating Pac because Pac is an ATG and Martinez, whilst a solid fighter, is not even HOF worthy and will be hard pressed to be remembered by most fans 20-30 years from now.

I just can't see how Pac, Floyd or us fans can feel anything but regret if this fight fails to happen.

What makes you think Manny is a bigger draw worldwide? What proof? Other than being a big draw in the philipinnes. How about Manny has 100% of the Phillipines PPVs and Mayweather has 100% of the US PPVs?

I stand by my statement. These queers are just fans of fighters, not boxing. It's obvious this *** is writing this thread with a Mayweather shaped dildo up his ass.

Why do so many people care about what fighters get paid these days? ****s seem to spend more time discussing PPV and purse splits, as if they somehow benefit from what a fighter earns.

I want to see the best fighting the best. But Bob, Pac and Floyd have all contributed to ****ing this once great idea of a fight up for everyone. Pathetic.

I think that Floyd will regret it more than Manny.
