If it's a closely fought event, surely Cotto will get the nod from the judges given the hate towards Margarito? Even if it's not close and Marg quite clearly wins rounds, I wouldn't be surprised to see Cotto get the nod. Furthermore, I'm not sure I'd even care too much if Margarito gets robbed. I reckon Marg needs a KO in this fight else it's a foregone conclusion that Cotto will get the nod. Thoughts?
You may be right, but I hope not. Regardless what I think of Margarito(which is that he was loaded and knew about it), I don't want decisions based on anything other than the work done in the ring on the night. Period. It's bad for the sport.
I expect cotto to get the nod if it goes to points and don't care if marg gets robbed. I am very worried its going to go exactly the same way as the last fight though. I just think margs style is not great for cotto who although does not have major stamina issues will find it hard to survive the late marg onslaught.
i've heard some say on this site that arum hates cotto and does not find him marketable like cheato. i would imagine if it came to it, cheato would get help from arum on the cards.
Arum hates him so much that he is signing and Co-promoting fighters under Miguel's promotional banner.
Yes i agree, i think Margarito will have to stop him to win. And although i don't like to wish upon it, but as was said before, Cotto could stop Margarito if he targets that eye. This is a fight not to be missed.
I agree that Margarito's size, punch resistance and relentless pressure made things difficult in the first fight but I've got to believe that he'll be a bit tentative with the eye problems...any human being would be.
