He was huge. I think he was officially 169, but probably 170.

Remember, Oscar was a world champion at 160 by then. Competing against huge guys

If there was no catch weight, and he could enter the ring whatever weight he wanted, he'd probably be close-ish to Oscar.

The issue is, there is a catchweight, and I think it's foolish to suggest that Arum is going to let him come in at 168!?

You must be naieve if you think Bob, who controls both guys, is going to let Margarito come in 20 pounds heavier than his cash cow?!

With the catch weight (that will take off 2-3 pounds), and the fact that he's probably already agreed with Arum what weight he will come in at, I think you can probably expect something between 155-160.

I wouldn't be that surprised if he actually ended up coming in at 157 or something like that? As in, if that happens, he's obviously under orders, as he's never been in under 160 even at Welterweight.

You can’t compare it to Oscar vs. Mayweather.

Manny is the draw here. He will be dictating it so that everything is in his favour.

When Floyd thought Oscar, Oscar was the draw, and Oscar had EVERY conceivable advantage.

He bulked up to middleweight, and went in hugely heavy for that fight. Around 170 pounds.

It was such a competitive fight as Floyd was 148 and Oscar was 170. He was throwing him around like a rag doll

I watched the PPV. They said it in commentary.

Those "Tales of the tape" are just estimates, on looking at the guys. Not official.

Only reason they had Judah at 147 is that he weighed in at 145, and they decided to add on 2 pounds in rehydration weight.

Issue is, Judah weighed in at 145, then dropped weight. I have no idea why he'd do that, but he did.

He had to bulk up just to get in at 145

You are all forgetting the facts DLH did not boil down ! He used a dietitian and was down on weight well before fight night. So instead of just doing what boxers do, loose the weight and then put it back on , he weighed less than Manny on fight night .

Joshua Clottey weighed in at 149lbs vs Diego Corrales, and was 166lbs in the ring. That's 17lbs in 24hrs. And I think Margarito is naturally a slightly bigger and heavier man than Clottey. Margo will be there or thereabouts I expect.

Eh? :huh Wrong thread mofo. No-one is talking about the Manny-Oscar fight here, we are talking about Pac-Margo and Oscar-Floyd.

Oscar has never weighed anything close to 170 IMO. He didn't do when he weighed in at middleweight, so he certainly didn't do so when he weighed in at 154.

Oscar started at 130, and was outweighed by big welterweights when he fought them (like Tito, and even Mosley).

Oscar did not have the frame of a lightmiddle, as you can clearly see when he takes on a big, natural lightmiddle in Fernando Vargas.

You joyboys would say literally ANYTHING to paint your hero in what you think is the best light possible. :patsch
