Will Marquez be in better condition this time at 144 than he was in 09 vs Floyd?

it probably wont make much of a difference.

jmm himself has said the fight shoul've taken place at 140.

pac has signifigant advantages in this fight.

He should be, he's had ample time to prepare for it. However, I still think that JMM at that weight is the opposite of Manny at that weight, he loses his edge and Manny gains it. That's just the difference in the two athletes, some of it may be related to age, the rest is genetics. I don't see this fight being nearly as competitive as the first two, but I really hope I'm wrong and it delivers. Manny is totally proven at WW, Marquez looked bad at the weight. That's just the facts.
Not to mention, since being dominated by Floyd, JMM has fought a shot and now retired Diaz, a game but overmatched Katsidis and a totally overmatched Ramos. Not exactly what I would call fantastic. Now he's 38 and moving up again to face one of the best. This fight is sold on the first two alone, nothing else much makes sense about it and Pacquiao will likely destroy him.

Another pathetic attempt to hate on Mayweather disguised as a legitimate thread about the sport and/or an up-coming fight. Becuase had JMM been in TIP-TOP Shape he would have surely beaten Floyd for sure....right?:-(

He's fighting Pac, so that automatically means he will be a fearsome beast at the weight.

JMM was in GREAT shape. He was just in with the cleverest -- best adapting -- boxer in the sport. That he could reduce a magnificent fighter like JMM to a sparring partner -- at ANY weight -- is testament -- love'm or hate'm -- to how special Floyd is.

Marquez will come in at the saem weight he fights at,at lightweigh. About 145.

Its just this time he wont have to cut in the final week to make 135 and rehydrate up.

Mayweather weighed all of 4 lbs more than him in the ring on fight night(148 vs 152). The beating Mayweather put on him had little if anything to do with weight

Well said John. But no-one here wants to hear that. Because it would mean that they have to agree with what you said and/or acknowledge that FMJ is indeed a Top-Level, Elite, Talented Fighter. They would rather go on & on about how virtually everyone one of his opponents was severely weight-drained, old, past-it, fatigued, over-weight, over-trained or ducked everyone....you know, BULL****!

no, he's 2 years more worn and in that time went life and death and got knocked down by glorified journeyman Katsidis

Bit harsh. Katsidis is a world class fighter.

Been a top 10 lightweight for years now.

    :good

Although I don't think he looked like a sparring partner, and actually thought JMM won 2 or 3 rounds (I forget which, a couple of early ones).

I think JMM just never matches up well with Floyd overall. JMM's style is one of combinations and counterpunching...two things that you are pretty much never going to get to do with Floyd, especially when Floyd is the slightly larger man.

Yes it will. This will be one of the best victories of Pac great career. Mayweather's win should not even count in the record books. Marquez was flabby and the extra weight made him, slow, weak, and unskilled while Mayweather was literally a Middleweight. Marquez will be bigger than Pac in this fight, look how big his upper body is, he is going for power. This is a Marquez that would've gave mayweather one hell of a fight.
