Undefeated former p4p no 1 who is SEVERAL weight classes higher then JMM's natural weight. Inactivity or not it's still a monumentally huge win.

If Marquez goes the distance then he gets lots of credit.

The two guys Pacquiao beat as former opponents Mayweather beat already. Marquez is moving up weight divisions to fight Mayweather who was P4P#1 before announcing retirement(please note a defeat wasn't what removed him as P4P#1) and Mayweather is also undefeated. Marquez' last two fights aren't bad either, two KOs over Casamayor(new weight division for Marquez) and KO over Juan Diaz.

That makes Pacquiao's last three fights:

    David Diaz
    De La Hoya
    Ricky Hatton

    Juan Manuel Marquez'

    Joel Casamayor
    Julio Diaz
    Floyd Mayweather

Will be too difficult to blame ANYONE who has him P4P#1 or even argue.

It would arguably be the biggest win since... I can't think but it would be HUGE.

is that what u can always argue, the last 3 fights? its old ans is subective.

tell me who's got the overall resume and better achievements between pacquiao and jmm and come back to me.

there is just one way to settle, a 3rd fight, but mayweather will jeopardize that one IMO.

    He'll be no. 1 p4p outright. If there's 0.5 I'd give it to him!

hmm.. now, hatton is decaying.... :patsch i guess according to you old shot casa was less decayed than hatton. :-(

and jmm is in fact 0-1-1 vs. pac. no amount of opinionated arguments will ever change that. :deal

but if jmm manages to beat mayweather, i will have no probs putting him @#1 p4p. you don't have to degrade another fighter to uplift the status of another. beating mayweather will definitely be a monumental achievement for jmm. that will surely put him above both morales and barrera in the list of the greatest mexican boxers of all time.

    Yes.

It would be the biggest upset this century.

And it would set up a rubber match with Pac.

He'll get massive credit, ring rust or what not. Haters will continue to hate though so he won't get across the board distinction he deserves but no boxer ever does.
