He will face good competition; Valero, John, Soto, Guzman, Barrios, and Linares are all options.

Marquez hasn't faced all bums aside from the two greats. Robbie Peden, Victor Polo, and Derrick Gainer are all respectable opponents.

He's a marquee name now so he can get big fights with good money with whom he wishes. JMM-Guzman would easily give him 1-2mil payday.

Why would marquez avoid guzman, hes a boxer with no power, marquez is a boxer with power.

 

Moreover, why would he avoid Valero?

If Marquez has fought two very close fights with Pac, who has every bit of power Valero does with more speed, technique, intagebles, tested opposition, etc... he is going to make mince meat out of the plodding, slow motion Valero.

 

Not too mention after two fights with Pac Man, JMM probably has every counter thought out for the similar fighter in Edwin.

He'd do severe damage to Valero like he did Rocky Juarez.
