Even if Sergio does beat Chavez I still can't see Mayweather going anywhere near him. Not a critism towards mayweather atall, weighing it up he's probably right.

    For instance,

    Flloyd fought Ortiz.

Minimal risk (ortiz was never going beat him), and maximum $ from the big mexican following he has.

Martinez. Massive risk, probably one of the most dangerous fighters on the planet right now, minimal reward because he doesn't really have a massive fan base.

    What do you think?

Could see Mayweather doing it if Martinez wins and the fight does good numbers. Obviously Martinez wouldn't be responsible for the numbers but a win would probably put his stock at an all-time high exposure-wise. Also, Martinez is probably going to be heavier than he has been for a while (maybe ever) on fight night to take on Chavez, which might make the aftermath the best time for Floyd to take him on at 154 or even 150.

I agree. When you're fighting a guy who's two divisions bigger than you, you need to be compensated in some way - usually it being the bigger guy not being that good, past his prime, stylistically exploitable, etc. Martinez doesn't offer that to Floyd. He's in good condition, is fast, strong, southpaw, punches hard, etc. Too much unnecessary risk involved, especially for a fight that's not being demanded of him.

    Maybe when he's 40, at 154.

its a loose loose fight for floyd really.. he cant fight higher then 154 and even at 154 he looks sluggish to me and would end up getting ko'd by martinez

but if mayweather beat him haters will claim he dragged a 160 fighter down

its the most competitive fight to be made for floyd but its prob the worst decision he could make in a business sense

Mandatory OSDT before, during (in between rounds), and after the fight before he leaves the ring, and a 10/90 split.

    154 is a small possibility.

if it makes money he'll fight him.

Mayweather will do the numbers cobined with the risk.

As it stands now the risk is way to high compared to financials to make this one.

He'd be more likely to fight alvarez or manny as they both offer more money and less risk than martinez.

That's the only way it'll happen. When Martinez has shown signs of getting old and not being as sharp, he'll make him come down to 154.

    never

Martinez will not go below 160, and Floyd will not go above 154, where he just doesn't look himself

Its not a fight I want to see , Floyd is 35 and fights at 147 , Sergio is 36? and fights at 160.

If they were younger then maybe , but not at the end of their careers.

For a fight with Floyd, Martinez would chop his arms off.

I know it's cliche to quote myself, but it's really all I can elaborate.
