Am I the only person that think their size difference is just too much to get a fair trade off of weights? Floyds not at his peak at 154, martinez would suffer massively below 154. IMO its a great fight. But I could see why the fight maybe doesn't happen
The longer Sergio continues to fight at 160 and gets further comfortable there, the above may come true. He's grown in to that division already, in my opinion. Especially if what purephase on the previous page says is true. He seems to be in the know.
Sorry if i sound like a ***** but floyd would outbox the **** out of martinez. Martinez does not have inteligent presure and no where near the same boxing IQ.
Oh I'm not in the know that way. I just think there's a strong possibility he'll be closer to 170 on fight night than he was for Barker and Macklin due to the size of his opponent. Unless he tries to pull a Pacquiao against Margarito and focuses only on speed, it seems to me coming in a bit heavier is a rational choice given Chavez's size. It would be easier to tell if this is actually the case or not if we had 30 day weigh-ins from the Barker and Macklin fights, but we do know he's around where he was for Dzinziruk, a fight in which he entered the ring at 170.
I see. I would have thought coming in light (well, what he would normally weigh comfortably) would be best for him. His feet and handspeed are what will destroy Chavez, in my opinion. But he knows his body well and I guess he's preparing himself in the event Chavez begins to close the distance looking to use his size advantage.
Probably not but who knows , Mayweather is one of the few fighters that wants to fight with the best. If Martinez will win the fight with Jr and I hope he does , it would be awesome to see Floyd accepting a fight with Sexy at 154 . If not there are a lot of good options for Martinez like Cotto,Canelo or maybe AA.:yep
I think if he beats Chavez, it could set up a super-fight at 154 for Floyds belt. Their could be HUGE money in it. Beating Chavez will get Martinez a lot of exposure.
But, but, but....I thought Mayweather could sell any PPV because he is boxing's cashcow, atleast that's what the *****s say :yep I guess Floyd does need help to sell a ppv after all, thus the Hatton, Marquez etc. On to the question. I don't think Sergio will ever fight Floyd either. Now that Pac is fighting Marquez we might see Cotto/Floyd 2 ($$).
No, Mayweather will take it and when there's risk, the effort goes beyond and I believe Floyd can steal it. No matter who wins it's a BIG FIGHT just like when Hoya stepped up to 160 to beat B'Nard...
