Will Martinez lose a decision if Chavez looks half way decent?

Nothing more to say, this scenario happens alot to an unpopular fighter.

If Martinez fights a great fight and Chavez Jr. looks terrible, Martinez could still lose. If Chavez Jr. fights a great fight and Martinez looks terrible, Chavez Jr. could still lose. Too shady to leave it in the eyes of judges.

Is it a Top Rank card in Las Vegas? The answer to that question is the same as the answer to the thread title.

For this reason, do you think Martinez also knows this and try hard for the KO?

He'll obviously go for it if the opportunity presents itself, but the risks associated with going to war with a giant like Chavez might still outweigh the risk of losing a decisions.

I don't think Martinez stands as much of a chance getting robbed as he did when he fought Cintron. He does have some fans now, ranked P4P #3, and has appeal. However if Martinez doesn't beat this kid down I'd bet they give it to Chavez. I hope Martinez does realize he's got to try to land big, and definitely go for the KO.
I think fighting his normal style though should present plenty of opportunity to land on a stationary Chavez, and I'll bet Chavez is at least hurt quite a few times.

Yeah very big chance of a robbery when you consider all the factors like top rank in vegas, mexican on sep 15, all the fans on chavez side, judges liking aggression ect

i feel martinez will get the decision if he fights all 12 rds but he never does that so.....

Unfortunately this scenario is far from out of the question.
