I believe so. However, it's a diluted accomplishment considering how The Ring has *******ized their championship policy.

If I'm not mistaken, The Ring Magazine is owned by Golden Boy Enterprises. Knowing that doesn't mean **** to me anymore.

Yeah the Ring doesn't hold as much weight anymore, but if he beats Canelo, he'd be the legit lineal champion with the number 1 and 2 guy fighting eachother.

Then you can make the argument he's lineal at 147 too

    Yeah hes lineal at 147.

He was lineal after beating baldomir. Then he retired.

Cotto-Mosley was made, cotto won and was considered the best. Went from Margo to Mosley to Mayweather beating Mosley.

Pac fought people after they lost, he never fought the number one guy while at 147, he always fought them after a big loss.
Fought Cotto after he lost to Margo. Fought Margo after he lost to Mosley. Refused to fight Mosley at 147 and demanded a catchweight. Finally fought Mosley after he lost to mayweather.

Mayweather was the lineal at 147, came back and beat the best guy at 147 in his 2nd fight back. Never lost. Beat the guy who stopped Pac so convincingly that nobody wants to see that rematch. Nobody is there to challenge him at 147.
