Will Mayweather come out cautious or take the fight to Pac early?

He will not change the way he fights. It has worked all his career, why change it in one fight? Too risky, he will do the same thing he always does. Too risky to try to walk down Pac

Cautious, which is the pragmatic route.

Everyone and their mother knows Pacquiao is going to come out like a typhoon, Floyd will just be testing the waters.

Floyd is going to come with the high guard and walk Maany down because he knows Manny can't fight on the back foot nor does he have the ability to throw 1200+ punches anymore like he did against Clottey. Imagine the Clottey fight minus 6 to 7 hundred punches thrown by PAC but with Floyd being a better counter puncher and more around defensive fighter even with his legs not what they were, better mover as well. Manny had no answer to Clotteys shell so he threw a ridiculous 1200+ power punches but could not open Clottey up and land solid shots unless you're counting elbows and forearms as body shots like HBO did. If many wants to keep it mid range, good luck is all I can say. Have fun trying to close distance on a guy who's bigger, has better overall skill and ring IQ. Manny is not this offensive beast that people make him out to be "anymore". His offense will not be his defense and you can expect to be disappointed come fight night.

Guarantee Floyd comes right out of the gate and takes command of the center of the ring. Doesn't mean he'll come out swinging, but he will take control of the center of the ring first. Pac will be expecting to come at Floyd when the opening bell rings, but he'll find Mayweather coming at him to take command of the ring. (See the beginning of Mayweather vs Alvarez for an example)

From there, the chess match begins.

That was Sr.'s strategy with Hatton. And it didn't work. But Sr. is such an egomaniac that he believes that Hatton didn't try to do just that.

Floyds walking down doesn't mean most fighters definition of walking down like Margarito for example. He controls distance quite well and times where he feels you're going to be ion. If you want exames, watch any South paw fight and Shane Mosley. High guard. Walk down. Manny can't fight off the back foot. It's not a shocking revelation.

Floyds high guard isn't 50% as good as Clotty's.

That works if you are Shane Mosley and can win any exchange. It's what Floyd did to Corley and Judah. It works well against southpaws if you can win the exchanges. Can Floyd win the exchanges against Paquiao?
