Will Mayweather-Maidana look like Mayweather-Gatti?

I expect Maidana to do slightly better than Arturo.

I still expect Mayweather to completely shut him out.

 

Mayweather is older. He will win every round, but it will not be a beating like the Gatti fight.

Floyd will be cautious the first couple of rds till he figures maidana out, and maidana loses a bit of steam.

Then it's the takeover

 

no. mainly due to mayweather at the time of the gatti fight was a much more aggressive fighter who had decent power at 140. now at 147 he tends to be incredibly defensive and only slowly apply pressure on his opponent as the fight goes on.

Nope, Mayweather doesn't and can't fight like he did in 2004. It's going to be one-sided though, that's for sure.

 

Am I the only one thinking this will be an ugly fight. Maidana like to work up close and with the free hand and both guys are partial to abit of dirty boxing.

 

Both are dirty fighters so yes it will get dirty, especially if Maidana forces the action and even more so if he gets success.

It won't be like Gatti, as Floyd says Maidana is similar to Gatti in his all action way of fighting but he thinks Maidana lands more damage on his foes and takes less punishment, he said in respect to Gatti, Maidana has a better defense.

 

Maidana is a very sneaky fighter and doesn't really get bashed up alot. The problem for him is that Floyd is better in this area. Im just struggling to see a way for him to win. Can he fight like castillo with some added mauling to prevent both fighters from punching? I don't think he can. Castillo had a better frame for that type of fight with being tall and having the same arm length as floyd. He also had a 10lb+ strength advantage on floyd.
