Will Mayweather make the same mistake as Algieri and Bradley?

Pac actually timed Cotto's jab and was able to consistently counter it with a lead left.
That has nothing to do with Cotto's mentality that he can walk Pac down, but everything to do with how Pac timed him and easily negated that jab.
And if you are Cotto and have an ineffective jab against Pac, what can you do but try to muscle him on the corners to get your hooks in?

See for yourself (take note of the round number, this happened as early as round 1):

Good thread but floyd got more ring IQ than both bradley and algeri put together he won't make the same mistake. Bradley hurt pac in round 4 that was the worst thing that happened to him

As someone pointed out, Algeri tried side stepping away right in the range of Manny's straight left. This is not an in-experienced mistake Floyd is going make. What also rubs me the wrong way is that Pacquiao got to fight a caliber fighter Algeri without really taking any slack from the media or the public. Khan has received more negative feedback from fighting Algeri than Manny has. It goes without saying what controversy would stir up if Floyd even fathomed the thought of fighting Chris Algeri. Well come back to this point later.

As far as Bradley. Another poster brought up the point that he doubts Floyd and I quote "irrationally" decides to just go to war with Pacquiao like Beadley did. I too agree with this point. And let's all just be honest here. Neither Bradley fight was a dominating showcase of clear victory like some people in this forum try to make it out to be. Manny didn't look that good at all in either fight. Especially the second fight. I advise to please watch again if you disagree. Manny's mom didn't feel this way either.

Bradley at one point during fight landed a right that caused Manny to become suspended in mid-air followed by a Zab Judah stanky leg. He also opened a cut on Manny in the second round from a right hand. Do not try to kid me or yourselves for crying out loud. Manny was missing at several points in the fight 4-7 punch combinations in a row. His accuracy was atrocious and keep in mind this was against a gung-ho Bradley. Even though Manny got the victory, neither fight made a good case for him.

Now back to my point for Algeri with Manny fighting a guy of his caliber to begin with. That tells you right there he's protected. Unlike the majority of his other fights, Team PAC didn't win the battle before stepping into the ring. We now know that Manny is being tested unlike in the Rios fight where Team PAC finally decided to do a 180 on the subject of drug testing. There's no catch weight. Manny is rightfully in his place being B Side. Floyd already has the battle won outside of the ring. Manny and Roach have also done most of the promoting while Floyd has stayed focused and just trained.

The bottom line is this. Roach is a overhyped trainer. Manny is an overhyped fighter. And Roach is only willing to put him against guys that clearly are at a disadvantage with Manny at this stage of his career. The end is only 15 days away. The popularity contest has passed and everyone has to be ready to come to terms with reality. Floyd is going to win and show he was always in a different class. He will box at points in the fight. He will walk PAC down in other instances. You will see a complete fighter with an array of different strategies coming into play against a guy who just wants to really just stand and trade.

Roach is desparately just looking for attention and portray himself as relevant. Buboy will be head of that corner on fight night. Manny is not going to magically learn how to become a more complete fighter for just one fight.

Manny was never the boogeyman. He was just another built fighter who was rewarded for being held to a lower standard to Floyd Joy Mayweather.

Manny has never seen speed. Floyd has. Manny has only fought one or two defensive fighters and the best athlete he's ever faced to date is feather fisted, vegetarian Bradley. Floyd's seen multiple styles, seen awkward, seen power, seen tough, seen heart, seen hand speed, seen foot speed. Nothing new.

    48-0.

I think Mayweather will fight out of character and go after Manny in the first few rounds, and Manny will find some monster left hook that put his ass to sleep.

Once they're in the ring people will notice how tiny Pac is compared to Floyd and how wildly he will be missing. This will be a pretty boring, one-sided fight.

algieri was not trying to ko pacquiao, he hardly puts anything into his shots lol. Bradley was but probably because he knew he would have a very hard time winning on points & also if you watch the fight after the 3rd round 'diaz - talk to me tim' ' tim- I can't move, i'v pulled a muscle in my calf'. Then we saw tim sitting on the ropes alot luring manny in... he had to fight this way in the end.

Provo couldn't finish Algieri or Bradley off either. Guess he's out of power as well.

Mayweather won't take a chance unless he really has to. One thing about Mayweather is he's the smartest boxer in the world and is very disciplined. He'll be happy to win a wide U/D and nothing would make him change that, not even boos. Floyd is very used to spectators booing, he just ignores it and does his job.
