Does anyone think it will make a difference in the fight at all? I'm not saying it will but I'm interested in peoples opinions on this :think
nah it wsn't so much that Roy had a problem with the weight it was that he no longer could dodge shots like once used to when he was younger you know his age finally caught up to him.....he isnt the same i think he was 36 in that fight. Floyd is still young and his defense is not just based on being able to dodge punches but yet block them ya know.
No becase before he weighed in at 146 for the De La Hoya fight on fight night so it will not be a problem, Hatton will be heavier on the night!
I think this sums it up. If there were some marquee names at 140 he probably would (and could easily IMO). Only thing for me is I like Floyd and 147 is now hot and fookin crackin with serious bangers. Floyd will be smaller than all of them on fight night and as a fan of PBF Cotto worries the **** out of me.
He was 150 at fight night ( the same as in the weigh in according to some unofficial sources), 3 pounds over the welter limit, while Jones came from 193 ( March 2003) to 175 (November 2003). I don't know if he'll feel weaker but he'll definitely be more mobile like against Baldomir...
Big difference in the way Floyd makes weight and Roy does.Don't forget Roy used performance enhancers, and paid the price in the end.Floyd just works hard and makes tweaks in his diet to control the weight.
