People keep saying Ortiz will keep coming forward. I think he will come forward only if successful; ala Berto. But the chances of that happening against Floyd are slim. Any smart fighter will move away if he has to. I think this may be more like the Campbell fight, with Ortiz moving away when necessary, but only with Floyd getting the better of Ortiz by a long shot. However, I do think it's possible for Floyd to get the stoppage if Ortiz tires too much in the later rounds. Think it's most likely to go 12 though.
I think Floyd will probably stop Ortiz. I actually think Ortiz best chance is to hurt Floyd early and get him out of there. If not I see Floyd breaking Victor down badly with body shots, straight rights and upper cuts. Victor squares up too much, his footwork won't keep Floyd away and with all the fatigue accumulated he gets caught by shots he doesn't see coming. I say Floyd TKO 10th round. :bbb
I think his corner throws in the towel late after he gets tagged repeatedly with hard right hands. Ortiz is surprisingly competitive early though.
Don´t exactly know why, but I have gut feeling that Ortiz will hang on for his dear life and refuse to be KO´ed. Floyd wide UD (wouldn´t surprize me a lot if it would be a complete shut-out).
I think its likely. Floyd doesnt hit as hard as Berto punch for punch, but he more precise and an excellent counter puncher. Ortiz takes puches flush when he does get hit. He deflects very little and that will be disastrous against Floyd. If he doesnt stop him, it will be a prolonged beating.
I'm not impressed by Mayweather's actual stopping power. But a towel or Ortiz himself quits once Mayweather starts beating him like he did Mosley. He's still too young to be beaten like that :nut
Whatever kind of stoppage, the thing is he will stop Ortiz. I referred to Gatti because of the sparring session performance he put on that night, I expect that on Sep. 17.
