Will Mayweather's fans be disappointed in him if he fails to knock Hatton down?

You try to come off as smart yet you cant even read and comprehend properly. I never said I would be dissapointed with Floyd not getting a UD, I said I would expect those people who has set up their expectations of a KO to be dissapointed if there is no KO as obviously their expectations were let down. I didnt say I watch Pac for KO's either, I said the expectation of fighters like him and Cotto are that they will KO their opponent and if they dont its dissapointing because there again, their "expectations" were let down. Key words here, expectations. Everyone has different expectations of a fighter and only when expectations are not met that people are let down. Best example of this was Naseem Hameds last fight, he won clearly but after his loss to MAB everyone was expecting a spectacular KO comeback, it never happened thus alot of people were let down. Shall I keep highlighting the word "expectations" for you?

And just to entertain your argument since your so bent on bringing it up, boxing is about hurting your opponent. Boxing was not invented with the idea of trying to hit your opponent more than he can hit you. If that was the case why not just tap Tyson on the face, sprint a mile and hey, I landed 1, he landed 0, I win. Boxing is about hurting your opponent and the best way to do that is TO HIT & not get hit. Notice the hit part? When your comfortable to land 10 jabs a round and avoid contact the rest of it, you are defeating the purpose of boxing. Hitting and not getting hit is the best form of hurting your opponent, but first and foremost it is about hurting and defeating your opponent. Tyson is the best model for this, he knew how to not get hit and land his bombs at the same time.

 

I'm not a Floyd fan, but I agree with this.. unless Hatton takes an extreme amount of punishment without quitting or getting stopped on cuts. If Floyd throws a lot of punches and really sits down on them, he could easily get Hatton out of there before the 10th round. If he fights Hatton safety-first like he did against DLH I will lose major respect for him.

 

not a knock down, as floyd has never been a big puncher at this weight. but i'll be dissapointed if he does'nt let his hands fly and stop hatton on cuts or something of that nature.

 

Wrong boxing has always been a sport of hit and not get hit, if that were not the case why have scoring ? or do you believe the guy that looks the tuffest and appears to land the harder blows should win the fight ?

If that was true then Tyson is the wrong example to use, since cus whole principle of boxing was based on Hitting and not getting hit. It was when Tyson abandon this style that he lost his advantage over the bigger heavyweight .. Tyson biggest advantage was not his punching power but his ability to inflict damage with out taking any in return. when Tyson lost his ability to avoid punishment he became less and less of the Iron mike and more of beatable Mike . Fact

Any fool can get into the ring and get his brans knocked out , you don't need talent to be beaten into ******ation but it does take talent to master the art of avoiding punishment and delivering your own. Thats Boxing !!!!

Boxing is about out smarting your opponent , hitting him when he can't hit you , this is the skills that boxing was based on , if that were not the case then why don't we just tie to tuff guys on the top of a log with melee weapons tied to there hand, and let them beat each other brains out.

This is the reason you have fighters practicing , the principles of foot work , defense of the bob and weave , slips and parries, a art that is lost on today fighter , and the one reason you have so many old timers saying that fighter today ant ****, and the appreciation of good boxing skills is defiantly lost on todays boxing fans that believe every box match has to end in blood or KOs.

Sorry to offend you, but I'm pretty confident in my pick. Hatton isn't a bum, but he doesn't have the skillset to beat Floyd. Anything can happen in there, but I would be highly suprised if Hatton won.

Oh please, dont tell me about the science of boxing. Ive boxed for years and I know exactly what it is. Tyson went in there to hurt his opponents and Ive already stated that the best way to achieve that is to hit and not get hit. Often people like you only see the not get hit part. First and foremost, the idea of boxing is to inflict damage and if your not getting hit and not inflicting damage, you are not boxing at all.

 

PBF's "fans" won't care how he wins.

The rest of us, though, will know that this is just Floyd Mayweather, Jr. up to his usual bull****.

How many times has he called for a "total war, total annihilation of his opponent, I'll CUT HIM UP, I'LL MAKE HIM QUIT!" and failed to deliver, again?
