But his wins over those popular fighters aren't really there.

Tua knocked him out in 30 seconds. Foreman knocked him out. Holyfield dropped him six times in two fights and stopped him in th rematch. And if Holyfield's knockdown in the first fight had been scored 10-8 instead of 10-9, Holyfield would've retained the title.

Other than that, you've got Atlas begging him to fight against Holyfield. You've got Atlas begging him to fight against Vaughn Bean.

And impressive wins over Botha and Stewart.

    I don't know.

    Who knows how people vote.

But I watched Moorer's entire career and I never got the impression I was watching a Hall of Famer. I got the impression I was watching an underachiever quite a bit. I got the impression I was watching a guy who didn't care after he made some money. A guy who lost his killer instinct, yes. But never a Hall of Famer.

Add to the fact that Moorer joined an elite club of fighters who moved up in weight and won the crown.

Moorer beat Ramzi Hassan for a title that never existed before.

And when he moved up two divisions, Moorer was immediately rated by the WBO over Bowe, Tyson, Lewis, Morrison, Foreman, etc. (None of whom Moorer ever fought, except Foreman, who knocked him out.)

Then he won another vacant title against journeyman Bert Cooper.

And then he won a title against Holyfield because a judge scored a knockdown Holyfield scored inaccurately (and the judge was reprimanded for it).

And Holyfield destroyed him in their rematch.

If Hall of Fame voters sat down and watched Moorer's heavyweight title fights, it would be difficult to induct him. If they sat down and watched his entire heavyweight career, it would be difficult to induct him.

True.. I Came up watching him as well and had similar feelings.. On a side note the Tua fight shouldn't really factor into the equation. Moorer was on the comeback trail and that fight wasn't part of the 90's scene anyway.
