who cares, he would be outmatched in every way, I want to see him against Berto, that would be a better fight.

Cotto would be a fool to go anywhere near Martinez.

Of course, Cotto has never shied from a challenge, so he might just be foolish enough to get himself in trouble.

Is it a typo if you do it twice in a row like that or just not know what you're spelling?

another thread where i regret not reading every post but cotto is THE LAST person in the world who can be criticized for fighting weak competition. who cares if he doesn't fight martinez: he's earned it. he could fight betty ****ing white and I wouldn't blame him

he should. that would be a decent fight, but i've got maravilla all the way. too fast, too well conditioned, altogether just too good.

I actually think Cotto has more of a chance vs Martinez than against Kirkland, PW or Angulo because of styles. I still favor Martinez to win though.

I seriously doubt Arum was stupid enough to say, "I know what the fans want, and they can go **** themselves."

Report the source or you're just blowing your typical hyperbole. If he did say it then I apologize, but most of your posts are full of **** so I doubt this one is any different.

Cotto would fight Godzilla in a pool of sea water at this point in his career if the money was right. He fights for the best paycheck and is one mentally tough SOB. I don't think he fears anyone and I think he will go out with a bang.

He is far from the "last" person to be criticized for fighting weak competition. He has been a titlist for over five years and has never been the linear champ at any weight he has fought. He was moved very carefully and has fought a lot of over matched fighters prior to Mosley.

That would be quite a challenge for Cotto and I think the fight would really sell well as both are title-holders (including Martinez being the lineal MW champ) and both have a penchant for making exciting fights.

It may be too tall of a task for Cotto though. It's one thing to only take on fights that you know you're going to win and avoid winnable challenges. It's another thing to take on a challenge when its highly likely you're going to get your butt kicked unless the incentive ($$$$$) is high to do so (which I think it could be, I think this fight is pretty marketable). In the end, I think Arum keeps Cotto far away from Martinez and continues to do his own little house shows with him.
