  1. This.. ortiz was a young unexperienced champ easily bemused and bullied by someone like floyd with such superior ring iq.. Cotto is a seasoned champ and floyd cant just walk him down with a right hand all night hes too clever to fall for that game..

:good I am quite stunned at how many people actually underestimate Floyd's physical strength.

I am not stunned, however, at the way people overrate the beloved Cotto. This has been going on throughout his entire career.

Ask Mosley. He backpedaled most of the fight against Mayweather.

    Cotto + Backpedal = running

Floyd + Backpedal = Highly intelligent, masterful defensive retreat

Floyd will box toe to toe and pressure Cotto. What makes this interesting is Cotto's new trainer. He is cuban and should know how to approach Mayweather. I expect them to box in and out like they did vs Margarito. Come round 7 or 8 Cotto will go into survival mode and back pedal the rest of the night. Floyd will hurt him and if not for the 10 oz gloves and extra weight he'd stop Cotto.

Unless Cotto continues to improve his pivoting and lateral movement, his version of backpedaling can definitely be considered "running" as opposed to some intelligent defenseful retreat.

when did floyd become this beast who "walks down" people?
doing it against an ancient Mosley is different than doing it to Cotto.

By round 4 he will be backing up.

I am very sad to say that i see a late TKO result here.

I think Floyd is going to be moving forward, throwing more power punches, and actually forcing the action. He will only backpedal himself if he gets hurt. But From Shane fight onwards he has become a more aggressive, front foot fighter.

I think the Cotto of today is made for Floyd.
