Lol this Rican guy at work was like **** no Cotto aint gettin his ass kicked. Ill put money on it. I asked the puto how much and the puto was all '10 bucks.' Lol get the **** outta here with that ****...buy urself a couple extra 40s man.
After betting against him a couple of times(and losing) I was with the crowd over rating him. The truth is he is past his prime and mentally not the same as he once was. He peaked during the Mosley fight, a fight he clearly lost by a couple rounds. What has never changed with Cotto is how laboriously slow he is for an elite fighter and no matter when in Cotto's career they fought Floyd would wax his slow ass with ease. If Cotto's heart is in the right place he will try to bum rush Floyd a few times early in the fight as getting Floyd to trade is his only chance to win. I doubt he sticks with it as I don't think he has the heart any more. Like he said, its about the money, and he will try to box and get his ass kicked slowly instead of taking a horrific beating trying to win.
Am I the only one who has noticed that Cotto is too ****ing slow to turn over his punches when he pack pedals? He can't punch for **** backing up. Pernell Whitaker easily punched harder from the back foot, at least he was quick enough and technically sound enough to get off right. The only fighters Cotto can take rounds off of backing up are pathetic zombies like Margarito. So yeah there is a difference between what these guys do. Your also ignoring the fact that all of Floyd's recent fights he has quit using his legs. He is basically a walk forward pressure fighter at this point.
when did Cotto(e) become this physical beast filled with strength? last I checked he was one of the least athletic elite fighters. He doesn't have the kind of power and strength to hold back margarito(e) the way pass prime Shane Mosley did. He doesn't have an iron chin like margarito(e). He doesn't have amazing reflexes like Mayweather. He's not speedy like emmanuel. None of those guys have stamina issues either. Cotto(e) does!
Cotto was able to constantly push Margarito and in the later rounds made Margarito back up into the ropes; that was an unprecedented scenario. Cotto's gotten to where he is by using his timing and maximizing what physical advantages he does have in strength and heavy hands. In regards to stamina, Cotto just moved more than he ever has before in a fight, and he didn't show any tiredness until the 10th, where he was still performing sharply. I doubt he'll be moving and defending as much against Floyd, and should last 12 fine. Don't see what you're talking about; Cotto's punching form was excellent when fighting out of a lateral-movement game-plan, and he rocked Margarito's head back even more dramatically than he did in the first half of the first fight. Cotto's not the fastest fighter, but he showed he was not slow in putting them together in his last fight.
Cotto(e) is bigger than Floyd and hits harder. Oscar, Mosley, and Ortiz were all bigger than Cotto(e) and hit harder than he does, but two of em were still walked down by Mayweather. Converted southpaw Cotto(e)'s hurt you shot the left hook happens to be the punch Mayweather is least vulnerable to.
He was fighting a washed up one eyed disgrace. Sure he can back up against Margo and be effective. It isn't going to work against anyone with a pulse. He has almost no power backing up and generally looks like ****. He would have a hard time putting Betty White down with his back peddling routine.
They will be roughly the same size and Mayweather is stronger and more athletic than Cotto by a long shot. Cotto looked more powerful fighting bums like Jennings. If floyd was fighting the ready made mismatches Cotto was fed for years his power would look beastly.
He was fighting a stylistic foil with great durability and stamina who fought the same way he always did, except this time with even more of a size advantage. You could visibly see Margarito's head snapping back from the punches, and Cotto was repeatedly pivoting into his shots and delivering them with great accuracy. I have no idea how you can exaggerate the way you're doing, unless of course you consider the obvious bias present in your posts that put forth fictitious technical observations. And it's not a "backpedaling" routine, it's called lateral movement.
Any fighter is going to "back pedal" after getting hit in the nose a couple/few times. That is except a dumb ass like Margarito, who ends up with a broken face.
Think whatever you want. Everyone knows your just riding Cotto's sack to make Pac look better. I'm a fan of Cotto but he is past his best and at his best he was a middling type of titlists. There are at least three other fighters at 154 that I would heavily favor over Cotto and if the fights came off maybe three or four more that would get a win. The proof will come when Mayweather coasts to a easy victory. I wish this fight would have came off a few years earlier so I could have bet money with decent odds. Now everyone but nutjobs like you know who is going to win so the odds are shot. My technical observations are golden compared to the ****ing gibberish you subject us all to daily.
I had Marquez up against Pacquiao in all 3 of their fights, and this version of Cotto has little to do with the version that fought Manny, so no, it seems like only dumbasses like yourself would assume such a premise. Your technical observations are largely made up, or based in claims with little depth. I have no problem with people favoring Mayweather as he's the more skilled fighter; I have a problem with people dismissing Cotto's abilities and dimensions with made up descriptions and exaggerated criticisms. No matter what I put forth, it's always grounded in the fundamentals of boxing and observations that anyone with an unbiased eye will be able to see on tape. The only people who attack me and call my analyses "gibberish" are nut-huggers who don't put forth any meaningful counters of their own.
