This fight exemplifies his whole career, he has waited until Pacquiao's prime years have gone to finally take the fight all of boxing has been clamouring for. All time greats take on all comers, they take on the best fights available. Mayweather will never be held in high esteem by knowledgeable fight fans for this reason.
Boxers and boxing critics always expected Floyd to dominate Pac. Pacs only chance was while he was PED'd up. Now that he isn't, just another name for Floyd. If Pac wins, he becomes a legend.
Depending on how good Pac looks Floyd might crack the top 30 if he wins convincingly vs a strong showing of Pac. He wasted too much time of his career to dream of hitting the top 10. Even he said it was about money not legacy.
I don't see how Mayweather can crack the top 30 ATG. A fighter is defined by his resume. He's never beaten a legendary great fighter in their prime. There is no Hearns, Hagler, Morales, Barrera, Duran, etc. on his resume.
