Some guys don't look good in sparring, but look good when it counts in the ring.

This. Jennings would get schooled by Byrd. Jennings has no jab, footwork, or power to keep Byrd from getting inside.

Different fighters, different circumstances. Ike was young, promising contender who went to jail before he hit his prime. Ortiz has been around a long time and at nearly 37 we've probably seen the best of him.

I'd say Jennings is even more featherfisted than Byrd. Byrd was able to back up guys like Tua and Vitali. Ortiz had absolutely no respect for jennings' power.

I saw Ike on practically a daily basis while he was with Curtis Cokes in Dallas. I knew him from the day he walked into the
Home of Champions gym. Ike make a very big mistake calling a lying hooker in Vegas He said he'd never be beaten never be beaten & he nevar was

Exactly. Ibeabuchi is so ridiculously overrated, it's not funny. He had two - count 'em, TWO - fights against live bodies, and yet according to some people he would beat guys like Holyfield, Lewis, the Klitschko brothers, etc.???? :patsch

What a load of BS. Ibeabuchi squeaked by Tua and KOd a blown up supermiddle in Byrd. Not exactly proof he would beat Shannon Briggs, let alone Holyfield or Lewis! :nono:lol:

if he gets suspended again (won't be surprised) and his career ends right there and then, he probably will be the "what if" guy for many fans.
But other than that, I can't see the resemblence.

Ike was overrated. Would have been a top contender but champion? He went life and death with Tua and Byrd was doing pretty well before he got caught. Compare this to how easily Lewis and Wladimir dispatched of the two.
