But instead, he fought a man he supposedly idolized, and in doing that, set himself up to be a hated man by all Mexicans, and many Hispanics, Latinos and Chicanos. What he did was the equivalent of Holmes and Berbick fighting Ali. When Berbick won, the only ones in the building celebrating were his team. He was spat upon by the Ali fans as he made his way back to the dressing room, and got his just desserts against Tyson, some years later. Oscar had the AUDACITY to rematch an even older Chavez in 1997, further cementing the raw and brutal hatred of all Chavez fans for all time.

3. 1997-1999 was Oscarmania at it's peak. He robbed Sweet Pea, he fought the ghost of Hector Camacho, and something called Patrick Charpentier in Texas, and robbed Ike Quartey in Feb of 99. Then, we needed a hero, to be the Savior of the Universe, and like that 1980 song "Flash" by Queen, Tito Trinidad was fighting on HBO in front of an ANTI-OSCAR crowd, and was openly challenging DLH. I was reborn that night as a Puerto Rican. September of 1999 I was at the Mandalay Bay, ****ing with the Oscar fans, and being an obnoxious ass as the heartbroken fans of Oscar de la Hoya shambled out of the Events Center looking like zombies in a George Romero flick. Tito Trinidad was the Champion of the Universe!!!

4. Oscar didnt have the balls to rematch Trinidad because his big EGO thought he should get the higher $$$. So he waited for Tito to vacate, and fought David Kamau for the vacant title, lost that to Sugar and then in 2002, fought the shell of Fernando Vargas, who Tito had ANNIHILATED in December of 2000. He won. Then in 2003? fought Sugar in a rematch and got schooled so sweet, all three judges had it for Mosley. Then he got a lobotomy and challenged Bernard Hopkins at 160, but not before embarrassing himself at the scales in a WBO title match agaisnt Sturm, who was robbed blinder than Whitaker was. Hopkins made him quit in the 9th. Redemption was against the Trinidad victim Mayorga for his little WBC title belt, which he was relieved of this past May at the fists of Money May, his Ringdaddy. Now he is looking at HATTON for May, or COTTO? 147 pound men he hopes he can beat, based on size alone, typical Oscar.

5. Based on your blatant Homosexuality, maybe we could get Oscar to volunteer to put his ***** in some Plaster of Paris, so a mold could be made of it. Then, we could have some Stonecutters from France, duplicate it on the side of a mountain outside of East LA, and it would be the mecca of Oscar ***s such as yourself. (The original mold could be placed in a golden locked box, inside a monastery of Gay Oscar fanatics, at the base of the mountain) Then, gay asses like yourself could do a yearly pilgrimage, to worship the 98 foot stone statue of Oscar's phallus, something you do in your daily life anyway. Oh, to make a correction, David Kamau was a title defense in 97'. After the Trinidad fight, Oscar fought Derrell Coley in 00' for the vacant WBC belt, the night of the infamous weight scale situation with the NYSAC. Gatti-Gamache was the undercard.

I feel the duty to correct the correction - there was no title at stake between Colley and De La Hoya in NY, Feb 2000 but Hoya was announced as the WBC welterweight two time title holder in June 2000 at the Staples, LA, against Shane so there's only one thing left to say - he was designated as the WBC welter champion in between February and June 2000. I have no recollection of Hoya winning a title against Colley but I can always go to the DVD and check it out in a matter of a few minutes...

oscar's best performances came against guys past their primes....softened up....or previously beaten by trinidad.

chavez, whitaker...past his prime
carr, campas, vargas, mayorga.....all previously beaten by trinidad
quartey...who was his best win i.m.o. was softened up by jose luis lopez.
