I think it will be more brutal than Cotto vs. Gomez. I can picture it now.. Oscar jabbing the **** out of Forbes and then ending his misery in about the 5 round with a wicked left hook.:deal

oscar NEEDS to go 12 with forbes, put in some rounds and practice a few moves.

I very much doubt it. Forbes has better defence than Gomez, and is more likely to run to escape punishment. De La Fishnets could also be quite rusty and looking to get in some rounds, he won't be as relentless as Cotto

I'm thinking Cotto / Gomez was more of a one sided beat down than DLH / Gatti.

No, Forbes is a more skilled fighter than Gomez. He can fight in close, countering in the pocket or he can box and move. Plus he has a solid defense, unlike Gomez who is susceptible to shots up the middle. De La Hoya will probably stop him, but it won't be as brutal as Cotto/Gomez which was tough to watch.

The only brutal beatdown is the beating fans are taking by being force fed this stupid match and the pointless DLH-Fraus rematch.

Oscar is fighting a lightweight who should be fighting at no more than 138 to 140 lbs. He is also employed by Golden Boy Prdductions as one of Oscars sparring partners. Oscar knows him like a book. Oscar will do whatever he wants to do. This fight is a farce and yet the Oscarites will think this is a great victory    "He's back" will be the chant. Hell Oscar beats him up twice a week now. It will not be any different fight night.
don't bother looking up to see if he is employed at GBP now. He's not. He was let go one week before the fight was announced. How would it look if everyone knew he was only fighting a guy he beats up all the time. When the fight is over he'll be back in camp. That is if he didn't hurt his boss too much.
He's not stupid. That certainly will not happen.

No. Oscar is a boxer and not a physical fighter the wear you down. And since Stevie is not easy to hit, it's gonna be a mediocre massacre at most, but probably a one-sided boxing match ending either in a ref stoppage (good thing) or after 12 rounds (bad thing for us).

It will be brutal but Oscar probably wont end it till the 10-12th round. He needs to practice on this smaller faster fighter.
