Now that DLH has announced that he would like to make his last fight against Cotto in Decemeber. What chances do you honestly think Margarito has in winning a decision against Cotto?

Looking at the way the more "marketable" fighter have been getting the decisions, Margarito has to Knockout Cotto in order to win. There is no other way for the Tijuana tornado. Oscar already said Cotto will take that fight. And a serious De La Hoya vs Cotto fight will happen securing De La Hoyas retirement. All Cotto has to do is play it safe, stay away, box from the outside, avoid big exchanges and take an easy decision.

So my question, Will Oscars influence on boxing politics screw Margo in winning a Decision against Cotto?

From what i've witnesses lately, I think YES. Margo has no choice, he has to go for broke, Knockout Cotto or nothing.

I think what he is asking is whether or not the judges might ,subconsciously or not, favor COtto over Margarito because of the huge event DLH/Cotto would be!

The more I think about this fight the more I think Cotto is going to beat Margo badly and stop him around round 9

That means DLH really doesn't want to fight Margarito. IF Antonio wins Oscar would say, the plan was Cotto not AM. TT and GB sparred b4

Haven't you been riding Margarito's nuts too long now? How was that ride when he was getting schooled by Williams for the most of the fight. **** even Cintron was hitting WAY too easily. It matters not that he can take a good single shot. He is gonna be outskilled, outgunned and outspeeded by a man that is equally as tough as him....not some kid who is gonna fold under pressure ala Cintron. And yeah, I'm picking Delahoya in the rematch.

But the question is... Does Margo need to Knock out Cotto, as the only way to secure a win due to the influce "Golden Boy Promotions" and DLH have?

Yeah that offer is only extended to Cotto not Margo. Maybe we'll hear more of this as hype by the Golden Boy campaign to get into margo's head to secure Cotto vs De La Hoya (Oscars retirement).

Or is this going to far....

Boxrec has Cotto/Margarito scheduled for July...a December fight would still be possible. This will be an extremely tough fight for Cotto because I'm not sure if he can stop Margarito, or keep him at bay for very long. I'd still pick Cotto because he is an excellent all-around fighter, but if it is tough Cotto may not choose to fight De La Hoya so early. But De La Hoya needs Cotto, not the other way around...he's just a cash cow.

I don't know, Did you see the Ratings Cotto vs Gomez produced? It backed up Floyds claim that Cotto is not a fighter in demand.

Thats one reason wants Cotto to fight in Vegas.

No, the difference between me and fanboys or nuthuggers is I can be a fan and big supporter of a boxer, but I don't get fanatical or make outrageous posts based simply on being a fan. Using emotions to make posts or picks is something I would expect women to do.

So he lost to Williams, big deal...should I cry like DLH fans do when Goldy loses? Sorry, not my style.

Magarito beats DLH @ 147 today, BTW. "I have to starve myself to make 150" - DLH:D
