As a boxing fan, I'm excited that finally boxing is doing something to counteract the problems it faces with promoters and fighters acting as agents unto themselves and not selecting the best fights, rather the most gain for least risk fights.

The tournament idea is almost a leaf out of the book of MMA and ensures that the best six guys (with perhaps the exception of Bute) are going to be competing against each other in a tournament format that will not eliminate you for a loss, allowing you to make a comeback.

Lets get behind these guys through supporting the fights, submitting positive feedback and hopefully push other divisions into the same thing.

I completely agree. If the tournament idea is adopted by other weight divisions, then we are in for some exciting years of boxing.

The lightweight division tried to do it last April, but it became a cluster **** when guys kept dropping out due to "Injury". According to the tourny, Valero,Katsidas,Reyes, and Escobedo are suppose to fight each other next but its all been abandoned with each fighter going their own seperate way.
