Marquez vs Pacquiao 3 did nearly 1.5 million.
Because of the stink of the robbery, fight 4 did less at 1.2 million.

Even alot of the casuals can smell a rat, and they will with this matchup again.

    It will sell under 500k.

Why does it matter how much PPV will the fight sell? And why would anyone care what will the boxers do in order to promote the fight. This is a sport and they should show respect towards each other. Yes, they could boost the interest by doing some stupid things (like Chisora against Vitali) but if they do that and try to make a circus out of the sport, it goes at their own honor.

That's what I don't understand about some fans. If you want to watch the show and not the sport, then switch to American pro wrestling or something.

It matters because it plays into bigger fights getting made.

Pacquiao wants a big chunk to fight Mayweather, but if his second fight in a row does poor PPV numbers, then that diminishes the % he can demand vs an opponent like Mayweather.

If it does it's because Bradley is box office poison, not because Manny doesn't draw.
6/9/12 PPV Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley 700,000
3/16/13 HBO Timothy Bradley vs Ruslan Provodnikov 1,200,000
10/12/13 PPV Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Márquez 375,000

Here's what kind of business these guys do without him.
12/8/12 PPV Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Márquez IV 1,150,000
10/19/13 HBO Ruslan Provodnikov vs Mike Alvarado 1,200,000

I expect it to do the same numbers as the first fight. It can do better or worse depending how much they promote it. The Pacquioa/Rios fight only did 475,000 buys because it was in China. You need to have the fight in America and promote it in America, preferably with an American star to get good domestic box office numbers.

Pacquiao's ratings on free tv around the world haven't dropped, but the Pay per view numbers being a US product, they need promotion in the US. In the Philippines the Rios fight garnered 43.4% of television viewers. Who knows what kind of ratings it did in China on CCTV. Some people are speculating 100 or 300 million. I wouldn't go that far, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did 30 million or more on Chinese television and the ad revenue would make up for the shortfall in the pay per view numbers.

Well, if it's all about the money then they should both quit the sport. They should have done it 50-50 like the true champions long time ago. Right now I believe that it's fair that Mayweather takes around 60%, as Pacquiao currently holds no title. That could obviously change if Manny defeats Bradley but whole that story about "who is the bigger star" is just ridiculous.

Take an example of Wladimir Klitschko, he was the bigger name than David Haye and he was earning more money and was more popular, as well as being the champion of the world while Haye was just a titleholder. Yet he accepted the 50-50 split in order to get the fight done and prove that he is the best in world. That's what champions do, instead of bragging who is more popular and who had more PPV sales.

I was disgusted to see Cotto do all those stuff in the negotiations with Sergio Martinez, requesting so much more money and trying to dictate the all terms just because "he is the draw". In reality Sergio is the champion of the world and Cotto is a nobody at 160 and not even a titleholder at 154 to behave like that. Hopefully Sergio teaches him a lesson in the ring.
