Will Pacquiao lose alot of respect if he fights JMM higher than 140?

I would not give him credit for beating Marquez over 140

The issue here is: Marquez is the guy who wants the fight. He has to go up to 147 if he wants to get his third shot. The fact that he´s negotiating with Arum a 143 catchweight is fair enough for him. You can be damn sure Pac will respect the contracted weight limit, unlike Floyd.

I can´t understand how Floyd gets credit for fighting Marquez at a 144 catchweight (Floyd weighted 146 and paid the penalty), and Pac should get no credit if it´s not 135 or 140.

This is what I say but everyone seems to think its crazy. Pac puts on like 3 or 4 pounds at most from the weigh in to fight night, and cant even make the welterweight limit himself.

Marquez came in at 145 against Katsidis on fight night and Pac came in at 148 against Margo and Mosley. Three pound difference. There are GREATER weight discrepancies from guys that fight in the same friggin weight class. Look at Ortiz vs Berto for crying out loud.

In the last Marquez/Pac fight they came in on fight night at 141 and 145 respectively, a greater distance in weight then if they were to likely fight in a few months (4 pounds vs 3). These guys are build upon the same frame more or less. They could fight at 140 or 147 and its irrelevant in the case of these two. They will be close to the same weight regardless

I dont think pac should even fight JMM... even if he knocks him out it means nothing @ 144 or 145... pac should fight bradley.

marquez can ask for a catchweight but shouldent ***** if he cant get it. Just like pac asked for catchweights as well. Marquez now stands little chance of beating pac hes better off moving up to 140 a packed divison theirs good winnable fights for him their.

Floyd is Floyd, he would get credit even if he fought a bum, an old or a shot fighter but Pac needs to fight an elite fighter at his peak to earn a credit!:huh

Marquez is 38 yrs old and way past his prime. Pac will kill him now at any weight north of 135 but yes, he will lose respect simply by fighting JMM. Having said this, however, I still believe that JMM is a lot better than Judah, Bradley, Khan, Maidana and Ortriz.

pac went up 2 weight class to fight oscar. There's really no one left unless it's chicken mayweather. Pac has clean up the welterweight division. If they want to put ortiz in there, he would knock him the **** out.

Finished the trilogy with marquez and show the world who's better.

Oscar went down 3lbs and was planning in going to 147 anyways which is why he fought Forbes at 150. Pac went up 2 divisions and 3 divisions that year.

No reason why this fight can't be at 140 though, Pac can make the weight easy so why not? He would get more credit.

It would be a joke if marquez official weight is 140 and 144 for pac especially if the belt is on the line.
