You're dumb man ... Pac is not a PPV star ... he needs a big name ... I assure that Pacquiao v Diaz doesn't do big numbers. If that fight's on we can make a sure bet ...
Stop calling people dumb. It looks bad when you follow it with ridiculous posts. Pac is a PPV star. In fact he is setting records for the lower weight divisions. You keep attributing his success to Marquez. Why don't you indulge me in the highest numbers Marquez did before fighting Pac?
how is the arguement void? w/ Solis he didn't do well ... what was he doing w/o Barrera and Morales? ... nothing ... no one watched his fight w/ Larios and no one watched his fight w/ Solis ... other than Pac fans ... none of the boxing public was dumb enough to waste their money. by himself he can't sell more buys than Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Pac is not doing it by himself ... you talk as if Marquez was a nobody or something ... like he wasn't a factor ...
he did 300k buys w/ Barrera ... he has fan fair and has a big following ... why you act as if all the people buy Pac fights are just buying them to see him ... I ordered that fight and it wasn't because of Pacquiao alone ... I liked the match up ... Now if it was Pacquioa vs Joan Guzman and he did those number I was give it up but it was JMM a big name MEXICAN star w/ a huge following.
Its void because most any fighter without exposure to big name opponents, the best in their division, is not going to do big PPV numbers. You keep attributing Pac's success to him fighting big names, as if that rule doesn't apply to other fighters- including Mayweather. You keep referencing the Baldomir fight as if he wasn't a well known entity before that. Fact is that he was a champion in several divisions and was well known for years.
good point even oscar de la hoya would'nt do good numbers if he were to fight somebody like antonio margarito
bull**** ... Oscar does 500k buys on his name alone ... if the fighter has a name then that number jumps to 850k
you have an avatar of PacMan w/ his shirt off and your screen name is PacDBest ... you're the biggest nuthugger on the boards ...
The answer is no. Pac isn't even American. There wouldn't be much buzz behind this fights. Hoya would probably be coming off another loss, and no one would give Pac much of a shot of winning. Only Pac and Hoya fans would order this. If you look at Hoya's PPV track record, pretty much all of his highest sellers where against guys that beat him. Americans aren't gonna pay to see Hoya against a much smaller, non American, who they don't think can beat him.
Does WWE's ppv with PBF count as PBF's ppv or is that different all together? What about his ratings with dancing with the stars.. all I'm saying is PBF owns Pac in a ppv at this point and in the near future.
Reg, you know better. There would be huge buzz about this fight. Most fair weather boxing fans haven't a clue about weight disparities and the importance of weight classes. I have aquantances who have asked me ridiculous questions before, like why a light heavy wouldnt fight L. Lewis and the likes. And, it has a freak show aspect to it that people who did understand weight classes would still opt to see. The possibility of a little, fast fighter fighting a true 154lb fighter would excite people. Hell, wrestling exicites enough people as it is. There are hundreds of thousands who tune in knowing full well it isn't real.
pac is becoming big now, he recently have a nike commercial(see other thread). Why would nike put him up if he is not?
