Will Pacquiao's knee injury return and limit his essential movement?

As Alex Ariza confirmed, Manny Pacquiao suffered a knee injury earlier this year. "He had a knee problem after the Ricky Hatton fight [in May]. It was tender and swelled up and it took until a week before the fight [with Cotto] to get the swelling down." If you remember, Pacquiao used a knee strap on his right leg during a period of time before the Cotto fight, as "precautionary measures", and you could notice he was less mobile in the ring, getting hit by flush jabs, which is a good sign of being a more stationary target than before.

Knee injury is a ***** for top athletes who don't have proper time to heal, ask Vitali Klitschko who's suffering from it, well, for years now, and you could tell something was wrong with his movement vs. Cris Arreola. As Rafael Nadal, Pacquiao put extra muscle to his body in a relatively short time, which added extra pressure to the knees. Nadal is suffering from knee problems for a long time now, and in my view Pacquiao reached and probably crossed the line of his physical limits, he's no way a legit welterweight, he's just so goddamn good he can fight there. The concerns are there in other threads and among Pacquiao fans that PacMan is not getting proper time to heal and rest, however I can only remember the eardrum problems being brought up, so let's talk about the knee, shall we?

As I said, knee injury is a ***** and unfortunately often returns if you are pushing the limits, and fighting another fight at 147 in a few month is pretty much pushing all limits. So here's a QUESTION as I don't state anything or go too far ahead:

Will Pacquiao's knee problem return and have an affect on his movement and mobility, which is the most important part coming into the Floyd Mayweather fight?

No excuses please. If he gets into the ring with PBF then Pacman is going into his retirement and it will not be because of a busted eardrum or knee damage it is because the better fighter will win period.

No. If his knee problem was going to hinder him it would have showed up in the Cotto fight. Bottom line is if Floyd wins it's because he won. Period. Floyd had a torn rotator cuff in the past. Floyd has brittle hands now. An injury forced him out of the original date of the Marquez fight. A rib injury if I remember correctly. Whoever wins this fight will win it because he deserved it. Not because of a previous injury.

I did think Pac looked slower in the Cotto fight than in past fights and I havent heard hardly anyone say anything about it.

Even my old man a casual fan but also one that doesnt read boxing articles so isnt influenced by them said the same thing on his own about the Cotto fight.

He didnt move as much as he did with Hatton, that could be a decent reason. Even though some of it may have been to get to Cotto mentally to show him he can take his punches but its not like he wasnt moving for lack of stamina so maybe the knee was still bothering him

He was more stationary than usual in the Cotto fight. I think he said that he wanted to show that he could take Cotto's power, but who knows?

Pac. should not fight Floyd unless he's 100%. If he loses, no excuses can be made. Same goes for Floyd, gotta 100% going in. I do not want to hear about it afterward. Pro's are allowed to postpone fights. Of course if either guy postpone's they get massive crap being accused of ducking, but not by me.
